Chapter 17 - Seeing Things

Ash and his friends stopped by a nearby waterfall to take a break.

"Whew! That was a long hike, but we're still not there. It feels like we're getting closer now." Ash says. "Yea your right." Cross says. "Anyway Cross if we are going to fight Ho-oh then we should train! Never know if we haven't trained hard enough to fight such a strong opponent." Ash says. "Okay." Cross says. Ash and Cross went to a plain field and prepared for a battle. "Okay Pikachu! Let's go!" Ash says. "Lycanroc! Let's battle!" Cross says. "Hmm?" Ash says pulling out a Pokedex. "Don't even do it. It's not in this region." Cross says disappointed. "Sorry..." Ash says.

"Let's get this practice battle going!" Ash says as he points at Lycanroc. "Pikachu use Quick Attack!" Ash says. Pikachu used Quick Attack towards Lycanroc. "Lycanroc! Use Counter!" Cross says. Lycanroc used Counter and dodged the attack and stroke Pikachu in the belly hard. "Pikachu!" Ash says worried. "That Counter looked powerful I got to somehow avoid it..." Ash thought to himself. "Lycanroc! Now use Crunch!" Cross says. "Pikachu counter with Iron Tail!" Ash says. Pikachu countered Crunch with Iron Tail. "Pikachu use Iron Tail again!" Ash says as Pikachu used Iron Tail to hit Lycanroc. The attack landed perfectly leaving Lycanroc hurt. "Hmm... Not bad Ash." Cross says as he noticed that Lycanroc loses some defense from the Iron Tail. "It's time to end this battle with Stone Edge!" Cross says as he points at Pikachu. "Lycan (Sorry pal times up)" Lycanroc says with a grin. Lycanroc used Stone Edge and hit Pikachu knocking him out. "Oh no! Pikachu!" Ash says as Pikachu fainted. "I guess that's it get stronger and try to beat me if you can." Cross says returning his Lycanroc. "Also good job Lycanroc that is enough training for now." Cross says to his Pokeball as the Pokeball shook nodding.

Ash sighs. "Next time we'll get him Pikachu right?" Ash says to Pikachu. "Pika! (Right!)" Pikachu says. "Huh? How come you don't return your Pikachu Ash?" Cross says. "Well you see my Pikachu doesn't like staying in its Pokeball." Ash says. "Oh okay." Cross says.

Ash and Cross headed back to the group seeing Misty and Verity swimming. "Hey guys! We just got back from our battle!" Ash says as he waves to Misty and Verity. "Hi Ash! Join us!" Misty says as she winks at him while Verity looks at her. "Huh? Does Misty like Ash?" Verity thought to herself. "Do you like Ash?" Verity whispers into her ear. "Eh?!" Misty says leaving Ash confused. "Huh? What's wrong Misty?" Ash says. "Oh it's nothing!" Misty says. "You don't have to confess to Ash! Because he looks kinda cute to me too! Also handsome..." Verity whispers with a little blush. "Hey! He's mine!" Misty whispers to Verity. Ash hears their Conservation as he enters the water quickly. "What's going on about here?" Ash says densely. "O-oh nothing!" Misty says. "Okay!" Ash says as he brings out a beach ball. "Let's play!" Ash says. "Yea!" Misty and Verity says. Ash and the two girls played together. Piplup, and Staryu was sent out of their Pokeballs to join except Pikachu.

"Would you look at that Ash is already a ladies man." Brock says. "I agree Brock." Sorrel says. "However he is a little dense wait... A lot dense!" Sorrel says surprised. "How dense is Ash? Brock." Cross says. "Well he is insanely dense comparing to him as he didn't understand most of the things he do that were 100% romantic." Brock says answering Cross's question. "Wow, really?" Sorrel says. "Yes really, anyway I need some of his wisdom if I want to get girls to date me too!" Brock says. Cross sighs, "Well good luck..." Sorrel says sarcastically.

Ash and his friends were packing up and ready to head towards their next destination. "Let's get going!" Ash says. Ash and his friends headed into a forest and followed to their destination, however something was following Ash. "Marshadow Marshadow... (Get going there Rainbow Hero...)" The Pokemon says. "Huh?" Ash says as he looks behind him. "What's wrong Ash?" Brock says as he looks at Ash. "Oh I thought I heard something beneath me..." Ash says. "That's just nonsense so let's get going." Cross says moving forward. "Okay if you say so." Ash says. "(That was close... And I didn't know he could hear me that close.)" The Pokemon Thought to himself. Ash feels a disruptive presence from nowhere. "Brr!!!" Ash says having a shiver up his spine as they were crossing a huge rock in the forest. "What's wrong Ash? Too cold for you?" Sorrel says. "No I feel like something is coming this way..." Ash says. "Are you trying to scare us? Because it is not going to work." Misty says angry turning around. "No I just have a feeling haha..." Ash says. "Okay stop being a bunch of babies and let's get a move on!" Cross says grumpy. "Watch it mister! Or or..." Misty says angry. "Or what? Redhead..." Cross says teasing her. "Oh that's it!" Misty says as she was being pulled away from Verity. "No fighting!" Verity says. "Yea guys that is not gonna get anywhere." Brock says. "Hey guys..." Ash says as they still ignore him except Sorrel. "What is it...." Sorrel says as he gasps. "H-hey-hey g-guys...!" Sorrel says as they still ignore him as well. "HEY GUYS!!!" Ash says aloud. "WHAT!" All of Ash's friends say except for Sorrel. All of them gasps as they see a Pokemon on top of the rock. "W-woah! Entei!" Ash says as Entei looked at Ash and his glowing jacket. "Huh? Oh..." Ash says as he pulls out his Rainbow Wing surprising Entei. "Roar! (Hmm you are the chosen Rainbow Hero?)" Entei says. "Yes I am!" Ash says. "Roar! (Go ahead to Rainbow Rock where you'll meet Ho-oh)" Entei says. "Okay! But can I battle you?" Ash says. "Roar! (Not now, but later when you visit me)" Entei says as he leaves Ash and the group. "Hey Ash you can speak to Pokemon?" Verity says in surprise. "Yea kinda..." Ash says. "So what did Entei say?" Verity says. "He said move on towards Rainbow Rock where Ho-oh is meeting me." Ash says. "Oh that's cool!" Verity says. "Now it just makes me want you more now hehehe..." Verity thought to herself. Ash heard and felt a chill. "Hmm okay Let's get a move on!" Ash says with joy.

Ash and his friends were near a lake and saw how pretty the lake was and nearby the lake a Pokemon was there waiting for somebody. "Woah is that Suicune!" Verity whispers. "Yea it looks like it. Hey Suicune! What's up!" Ash says afar. "Ash what are you doing!" Verity says shocked and mad. "Don't worry I got this!" Ash says as he pulls out the Rainbow Wing. "Hi you looking for me?" Ash says to Suicune. "Roar! (Hello there Rainbow Hero and fellow travelers I think are your friends. I should tell you that Ho-oh isn't at Rainbow Rock, but you should use the Rainbow Wing on the pedestal on Rainbow Rock to summon Ho-oh, that will show Ho-oh that you are there.)" Suicune says to Ash. "That's great news Suicune thanks! However can I have a battle with you?" Ash says. "Roar! (Not now, but next time we meet Rainbow Hero.)" Suicune says. "No need to call me Rainbow Hero! Just call me Ash." Ash says. Suicune nods understanding Ash and left. "Aw man I wanted to catch Suicune too!" Verity says. "Ash can you translate what Suicune said?" Sorrel says. "Yep He said that I will have to use the Rainbow Wing on the pedestal on Rainbow Rock to summon Ho-oh forth." Ash says. "That's great now let's go." Cross says serious. "I wonder if we could see Raikou too!" Verity says. "Most likely." Ash says as he walks in the path.

Ash and his friends were at a nearby Cliff seeing a lot of Pokemon surrounding them growling. "Grr! (Rainbow Hero!)" They all said. "Woah that is a lot of Pokemon..." Ash says. "Yea you could say that again." Brock says. "We should be careful we shouldn't scare these Pokemon away." Sorrel says. "I sense something..." Ash says as they hear thunder struck near them after ash says that. "Ah!" Ash says getting caught by surprise. "Roar! (Rainbow Hero! I will tell you a story about Ho-oh. Once upon a time Ho-oh was a Pokemon worshipped in the Johto region, he was a god to the people giving them their wishes. However evil doers began to obtain the knowledge and knew about Ho-oh wanting to use that power for themselves. Because of lack of greediness Ho-oh thought that Humans were just using Ho-oh as a toy and stopped communicating with Humans for centuries until Ho-oh thought of a plan to find a trainer with a pure heart of kindness to communicate to. Ho-oh created us to look over trainers to see if they are trusted with Pokemon.)" Raikou says. "Wait Raikou can I battle against you?" Ash says. "Roar! (Maybe in the near future anyways good luck!)" Raikou says as he leaves. "Translate? Ash?" Brock says. "Okay so he told me a story about Ho-oh..." Ash says as he began telling his story until the end. "Wow!" Verity says. "That seems awful to what the people did to Ho-oh." Sorrel says. "Whatever let's get a move on we're getting closer..." Cross says. "Alright!" Ash says.

Ash and his friends arrived on top of the mountain that was very near to Rainbow Rock. "There it is!" Ash says. "You know that all the Pokemon that you saw before was looking for power." ??? says. "Huh? Who's there!" Ash says. "Oh I'm sorry did I scare you?" ??? says as he hopped down. "Huh? Hey I know you! You're the one that wrote that book! What was your name?" Brock says as he was thinking. "Oh me? Just call me Banji." Banji says. "So are you here to find Ho-oh too?" Ash says. " Yes I am too and I've been searching until I came upon here on Rainbow Rock! However I needed the Rainbow Wing, but I don't have it so I was waiting here for the Rainbow Hero to come!" Banji says. "Oh you mean this?" Ash says as he pulls out the Rainbow Wing. "Oh yes that! Ah such youth..." Banji says feeling alive. "I've been researching about the Rainbow Hero and apparently I've heard that the Rainbow Hero will be watched over by the three legendary beasts known as Raikou, Entei, and Suicune also the Hero will be guided by the shadow, this mythical Pokemon called Marshadow guides the Hero and makes sure to seal up the faded color of the Rainbow Wing. It makes sure the Hero Succeeds his task by himself, however if fails I don't know what will happen..." Banji says. "Marshadow?" Ash and his friends say. "Maybe that was the noises I have heard while I was walking here." Ash says. "Maybe you're right." Brock says. "Whatever let's go! We're very close..." Cross says. "Hold up! We're not in a hurry." Misty says. "Yea!" Verity says as well. "Marshadow huh..." Ash thought to himself. "Just like in my dream!" Ash remembers the Pokemon that was about to hurt him in his dream before. "Hurry up Ash or you'll be left behind!" Misty says. "Oh! Yea sorry!" Ash says.

Ash and his friends are headed to Rainbow Rock and now are very close. Will they be able to find Ho-oh there? Tune in in the next time! And so the journey continues!
