(I don't own Pokemon and it's Company)

Ash and his friends arrived in Vermillion City where Ash's next Gym badge awaits. They are in the Vermillion City Pokemon Center to have their Pokemon taken care of before the gym battle for Ash.

"Ah can't wait for our battle in Vermillion City Gym! right buddy?" Ash says to Pikachu "Pika! (Can't wait either!)" Pikachu says. "Haf haf, Nurse Joy please help my Pokemon!" A trainer asks. "Please help mine too!" Another trainer asks. "Mine too!" A third trainer asks. "Please hold up!" Nurse Joy says. Nurse Joy sighs. "Oh dear how many trainers have Lieutenant Surge beaten in this week?" Nurse Joy asks herself. "Oh Nurse Joy! Who is this Lieutenant Surge?" Ash asks her. "Oh Lieutenant Surge is the Gym leader of Vermillion City! And he sure does beat a lot of challengers with his Raichu..." Nurse Joy says. "Huh Raichu..." Ash says to himself as he pulls out a Pokedex to type in Raichu.

Raichu The Mouse Pokemon an Electric Type - Its long tail serves as a ground to protect itself from its own high voltage power.

"This must mean that this gym leader specializes in Electric types." Ash says. "I may know who to use!" Ash says as he brings out Bulbasaur's Pokeball. "This'll do!" Ash says. "Pika! Pika!(Wait! can I go?)" "Sure I guess. Okay Pikachu let's go!" Ash says to his Pikachu as Pikachu climbs on his shoulder. "Let's go to the Vermillion City Gym!" Ash says to his friends and Pikachu. "Alright Ash!" Brock says. Ash and his friends left the Pokemon Center to head to the Vermillion City Gym.

Ash and his friends arrived to the Gym. "Huh so this is the gym..." Ash says as he looks at the huge structure. "Well let's go in!" Ash says as his friends agreed to head in. "Oh no Spearow!" Someone says inside the gym. Ash rushes to see a trainer struggle in a battle against Lieutenant Surge. "Hah! That's the fifth challenger today! But let me tell you there why would you use a type disadvantage against this gym?" Lieutenant Surge says. "I-it's none of your business!" The trainer says as he weeps and returns his Pokemon then run off to the Pokemon Center. "Hmm? And who you might be? A challenger?" Lieutenant Surge says looking at Ash's direction.. "Me? I am Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town! I am here to challenge you!" Ash says as he points at Lieutenant Surge. "Ho ho! Another challenger? Well then kid I will accept your challenge! After I heal my buddy here..." Lieutenant Surge says as he pulls out a potion to heal his Raichu. "Okay Sir I will wait." Ash waits to see Lieutenant Surge heal his Raichu. "Okay all done, now I will accept your challenge Ash Ketchum!" Lieutenant Surge says getting up on his feet.

Ash stood on the trainer's box with Pikachu on his shoulder, Lieutenant Surge stood on the other side of the Battlefield. "You ready Ash?" Lieutenant Surge says. "Yep!" Ash replies. "Alright! Go Raichu!" Lieutenant Surge says as Raichu stands on the Battlefield. "Alright Pikachu! Your up!" Ash says as his Pikachu ran to the Battlefield prepared to fight.

"This is an Official Pokemon Gym battle, this will be a one on one battle! Are the trainers ready?" Referee says. "Yea!" Ash says. "Ready." Lieutenant Surge says. "Let the match begin!" Referee says.

"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Ash says as Pikachu listens to Ash. "Pika! (Take this!)" Pikachu says as he unleashes a Thunderbolt towards Raichu. "Raichu take the hit and show it power with Thunder!" Lieutenant Surge says. Raichu took the attack and didn't even flinch, then launched a Thunder towards Pikachu. Pikachu got hit by the attack. "Pika! (Ack!)" Pikachu says as he felt the attack. "Oh no! Pikachu!" Ash says as he looks over at Pikachu. "Well then do you give up?" Lieutenant Surge says. "No I won't! I will earn my badge here at the Vermillion City Gym!" Ash says. "Heh, you got guts kid I will tell you that, but will you overcome my Raichu?" Lieutenant Surge says. "I will!" Ash says as he thinks about what happened on the battlefield.

"Ugh how do I beat Raichu?" Ash thought to himself. "Ah ha! That's the reason why Raichu didn't dodge!" Ash thought to himself as he came up of a plan in his head. "Pikachu can you hear me!" Ash says to Pikachu while it was still getting up from the attack. "Pika! (Loud and clear!)" "Alright then! Run around Raichu!" Ash says to Pikachu. Pikachu gets up and starts running around Raichu in circles. "Rai? Raichu! (Huh? Hey stop moving I can't hit you if you move too much!)" "Uh oh Raichu!" Lieutenant Surge says. "Ha! I noticed that your weakness is that your Raichu looks very slow and didn't look like it learned the move Agility before you evolved it!" Ash says in a clever tone. "Heh, you got that right, but what are you going to do? My Raichu is tough as ever." Lieutenant Surge says to Ash. "I will do this. Pikachu get in close with Quick Attack and follow it up with an Iron Tail!" Ash says to Pikachu. Pikachu listened to Ash and executed the attacks Ash said. "Nice try Ash, Raichu counter with Thunder Punch!" Lieutenant Surge says as Raichu executed his attack. Pikachu and Raichu landed their attacks head on. "Pikachu do it with full power!!!" Ash says with power. Pikachu used the most of its strength to push its attack towards Raichu. It broke through and smashed against Raichu really hard. "Uh oh! Raichu are you okay?" Lieutenant Surge says. "Rai Rai! (I'm okay, but now it's time to get serious!)" Raichu says. "Well you proved that you can overcome Raichu, but it looks like your Pikachu is in bad shape." Lieutenant Surge says as Ash looks at his Pikachu. "Yea your right." Ash says. "Pikachu let's end this! Use Quick Attack!" Ash says. "Not so fast! Raichu use Thunderbolt!" Lieutenant Surge says. "Pikachu dodge it and strike Raichu with Quick Attack!" Ash says to Pikachu. Pikachu dodged with Quick Attack and rammed into Raichu. Raichu didn't flinch a bit, "Heh, Raichu use Brick Break!" Lieutenant Surge says. "Pikachu counter quick with an Iron Tail!" Ash says. Pikachu landed an Iron Tail on the Brick Break Raichu used. The attacks clashed and both Pokemon stood on the opposite side waiting for the results. Pikachu fell down, but got up still conscious, "Pika! (Ah ha!)" Pikachu says as he looks over to Raichu seeing him fell down on the floor with Swirly eyes.

"Raichu is unable to battle the winner of this match goes to Pikachu, so the winner of this Pokemon Gym battle goes to Ash Ketchum!" Referee says as he points his flag to Ash. "Wow we did it Pikachu!" Ash says as Pikachu comes over and climbs on his Shoulder. "Pika! Pikachu (Ouch! That battle was a certainly a challenge)" Pikachu grunts as he felt the pain of the last attack. "Oh no Raichu!" Lieutenant Surge says. "Oh well I lost fair and square, so then Ash Ketchum! You won and now you deserve this." Lieutenant Surge says as he pulls out a badge. "Here you go. A Thunder badge, prove of winning at the Vermillion City Gym." Lieutenant Surge says. "I gotta say you have determination to win your battles, but don't go too far look at your Pikachu, it needs to heal from our Gym Battle." Lieutenant Surge says as he points at Pikachu. "Oh sorry Pikachu I should really know our limits to this Battle and beyond." Ash says to Pikachu. "Pika! (Its Alright!)" "Well then I need to head to the Pokemon Center my Pokemon need to be healed, yours too Ash." Lieutenant Surge says. "I agree!" Ash says. "Alright then let's get going Ash!" Brock says as he walks up to Ash. "Hey aren't you the gym leader of Pewter City?" Lieutenant Surge says. "Yea..." Brock says. "Aren't you supposed to take care of the gym?" Lieutenant Surge says. "Yep, but my dad Flint is taking care of it now." Brock says. "Huh Flint I haven't seen him for a long time." Lieutenant Surge says. "You know my dad?" Brock says surprised. "Yes he was the Pewter City Gym leader before he was a trainer, he ran off to train more because he felt like his gym wasn't hard enough." Lieutenant Surge says. "Oh that made sense since I saw he lost five times in a row when I spectated his Gym battles against challengers." Brock says. "Whatever we should get going!" Ash states as he heads out the door.

Ash and his friends head to the Pokemon Center to heal Ash's Pokemon and Lieutenant Surge's Pokemon as well. And the Journey Continues!
