Olga

Born on a Caribbean island, Olga knew that she was meant for something greater. The big war had created ripples throughout the entire world, and now it had finally made its way to her home.

Olga's dad led the family into a life of war. As a squadron leader in the Caribbean army, he joined forces with the United States to rid the world of all the dictatorships that had slowly robbed countries of the freedom they were bequeathed at birth.

As Olga waited for her dad's return, she was home working on her doll patients, healing their wounds, as they were brought in from the imaginary battlefield. She wanted to be a nurse, but not just anywhere, she wanted to be at the center of it all in areas that were dealing with a lot of conflict, where she'd be needed most. Her light came from her ability to nurture and heal, and so after attending Nursing school, Olga made her way to Syria. She lived for many years in a bunker that was set up by the United States to help pregnant patients and children, and it was there that she was able to give the word healing a new meaning. She wasn't there just to tend to wounds; she was there to heal hearts and broken souls that saw no future in the pain and suffering they endured with their fellow countrymen and women.

It got to be too much. She felt the weight of the work and service that she was doing, and she knew it was time to bid farewell to those she had served for almost half a century. She soon decided to retire and focus her energies on family. Through this choice, she dedicated her life to raising her 6 grandchildren at the request of her son, Armando.

No love was greater than the love of a grandma for her grandchildren, at least not in the eyes of her 6 grandkids.

She raised each one of them as her own and watched them become light bearers that guarded their lights with everything they could because their grandma told them how important they were.

After being a nurse for so long, taking care of others came naturally to her, but it didn't mean she always knew how to translate that into words. Sometimes, Olga could have a bit a sass in her words, but her grandkids never felt loved any less.

There was no task that Olga could not take on, and she was a very strong little old lady. What she lacked in height, she made up for with attitude. She did not back down easily, and no feat was too big or too small. Everything Olga did, she did it with her entire being, and she knew that she couldn't be on the battlefield as a healer forever. Olga's love for healing turned from patients to grandchildren, but when she did both, her light always shined brightly.
