The Light's Calling

Elijah

Born in New York, Elijah was used to a fast-paced life, but he did everything in his power to keep himself from getting caught up in it. He grew up with 2 siblings in what many would call a very hippy home. His parents wanted nothing more than to experience the moment that their children discovered their gifts.

There were many stories shared throughout their younger years, but these stories were more than just stories, they were possible to his young mind. One day, he decided to ask his mom how people discovered their gifts, and she told them that the gift had to be discovered by the person with that gift in a home where parents respect and love their children and do not pressure them into anything that the child feels to be wrong.

Well, Elijah wanted to discover his gift. He knew he had the perfect, loving, encouraging home for it, and so he began the only way he knew how: by jumping out the window. He was only on the first floor, so the fall wouldn't be much, but he knew that he had to see the gift in ways that weren't so obvious.

As he flipped, turned, danced, sang, wrote, painted, he suddenly heard a little cry. It sounded like the cry of a kitten. He could not just leave it there, so he quickly made his way towards where the sound was coming from, and it got louder and louder. Suddenly, he saw an entire litter of kittens, but one of them wasn't breathing. He ran home with it and looked on the computer to see what he could find. He finally found a video that showed how to do CPR on young animals, and he began to press on its chest gently. He continued with so much hope in his heart, and suddenly, he noticed that a pink hue started getting brighter and brighter with the last few pushes on the kitty's chest until suddenly he heard a tiny meow.

In that moment, Elijah had a feeling that his light had to do with healing. He found that as he moved forward in school, he was drawn to medicine more and more, and so he decided that it all just made sense to become a doctor. As he finished up with medical school, he realized that he was ready to help people, and he applied for a job at a hospital that was known for its caring approach to treating patients. He knew that was it from there, and he dedicated himself to serving his community through being a doctor at that hospital.

Marriage wasn't really much more than something to think about in the far depths of his mind. Yet, he knew he wanted a partner in life to do everything with until the very end, but his job was definitely his main focus. He needed to follow his light first, and then everything else would follow when it was the right time. Sometimes, he felt lonely, but then he thought about everything he had successfully done as he worked towards serving his purpose.

He knew his sister or his brother would help him when it came to dating because they both had plenty of friends, some of which were very single and ready to find someone special in their life.
