Shifting For The First Time

I turn in my comfy bed and let everything from yesterday sink in. I smile to myself because I'm finally marked. When the pack was told they were ecstatic. Julia was screaming with joy when I told her because she's been telling me we should mark ever since I told her he was my mate. I open my eyes and look up at my ceiling. I yawn and stretch my hands above my head trying to shake off my sleepiness. I get out of bed after 5 minutes of waking up. I make my way to my bathroom and start to strip my clothes off. I then go into my shower and turn on the steaming hot water. I wash and shampoo myself and then turn off the water. I grab a white towel and wrap it around myself. I make my way into my out of the bathroom and into my closet. I pick out some jean shorts since it's April and the weather has gotten a lot warmer. I also pick a nice under amour short-sleeve shirt. Once I've picked my clothes out, I walk back into the bathroom. I close the door behind me and begin dressing for the day. I brush my hair and put my hair into a high pony-tale. After I'm satisfied with my look I leave the bathroom, and go over to my nightstand and grab my phone. I look at the time and see that it's already 9:30 a.m. I sigh and make my way out of my room and down the hallway. I pass many pack members and I greet them and smile. I go down the stairs and get to the main floor. I walk into the very busy kitchen and grab an apple. I find Julia sitting down at the table with a plate of toast. I make my way over to her, and when she spots me her face lights up. She gives me a big smile, and I laugh mentally to myself. I sit down next to her and begin to eat my apple.

I then say,"Morning." 

Julia then says,"Morning. What's on the agenda today?" I groan. I had forgotten that today I was going to be doing my first shift. I've heard from Luke, Julia, Jacob, and many other pack members that it's so painful. 

I then say,"I'm shifting for the first time today." Julia stops eating her toast and looks at me with wide eyes. 
Julia then asks,"What?! Why didn't you tell me?!" 

I then say,"I forgot myself. I just remembered." Julia rolls her eyes to me.

She then says,"Only you could forget anything that important." I shrug and continue to eat my apple. We eat in silence savoring our breakfast. When I'm done Julia follows me to dump her bowl in the sink. When we're done with breakfast we make our way together to the pack gym. When we enter the gym I find Luke and Jacob waiting for me. He has an elderly man standing next to him, and he gives me a warm nod. 

Luke then says,"Ember this is Harry. He is one of our pack elders." We shake hands and I give him a warm smile. 

I then say,"It's a pleasure to meet you." 

Luke then says,"Harry is going to help us with you're shifting. He's studied the legend and knows much about it." I nod my head and I follow the guys through a hallway I've never been down. It smells of fear and pain and makes my wolf on edge. 

Harry then says,"I know you smell it. The fear and pain." I nod my head and the elderly man smiles sadly to me. 

He then says,"Yes, the first shift is the only price for being a werewolf, but it is a painful curse." I cold chill runs down my back at Harry's words. We continue to walk until we all stop at a metal door. Luke takes out a key and unlocks the door. We all enter the room. The room consists of a padded doctors bed three metal chairs that have been bolted to the floor. 

Harry then says,"Now, I don't know everything about the chosen one for the prophecy, but I know more than a lot of people. Since you have extra and better senses than a normal werewolf you're shifting or what our ancestors called curse will be worse. I don't know exactly how bad and painful the shift will be, but it will be long. It's could take up to 10 hours to 3 days it all depends. Now I want to warn you. When you do shift you'll be uncontrollable. Your wolf instincts will take over you. So that is why you'll be shifting in here." I nod and sit on the bed and Luke, Jacob, and Julia sits in the three chairs.

Harry then says,"I must go, but I will check on you later." He leaves the room and closes the door. 

Luke then asks,"You ready?" I nod my head. 

*We can do this.* I hope so Lily. 
Luke then says,"You need to visualize what you're wolf looks like." I nod and close my eyes. I clear my mind and begin to see a wolf body. As the image of the wolf becomes better I can see the wolfs brown, black, and white fur. 

*Ready?* I nod mentally to my wolf. I wait in the eerie silence, and then out of nowhere, I feel a stabbing pain in my back. I lean forward and squeeze the bed. Luke gets up and stands next to me. 

Luke then says,"Shh, Ember it's OK. You can do this." I look up at him, as another stabbing pain comes from my side. I see the concern in his eyes and I can feel his sadness. More pain comes, and I rip the bed's padding as I get another agonizing shot of pain. Julia stands up and walks over to me. I look into her blue eyes and I can see sadness and concern. 

Julia then says,"I know Em, it hurts." I take a breath and nod my head. This is gonna be long and painful.

10 Hours Later

I've only been having stabs of pain on my back and sides, but I know things are going to get much worse. I'm currently laying on the bed staring at the ceiling when the first bone snaps. As soon as I hear it snap pain swells all over my body and I scream. Luke and Jacob are at my side trying to calm me, but I'm too frightened. Another bone breaks this time my back. Tears flow down my cheeks as I hear my bones break. 

4 Hours Later

All over my bones have been breaking. I'm currently in a ball on the bed listening to my bones break. I'm so sweaty and tired. I haven't been able to sleep or be comfortable at all. Out of now where my left wrist breaks. I lift up my arm and I stare at my wrist scared. I then see my hand morph into a light brown paw. Everyone looks at my hand in shock. I then feel my other hand break, and it too morphs into a light brown paw. I feel my body being morphed and turned into my wolf. My legs and back begin to break even more bones. I soon feel an itchy sensation and I see brown, white, and black hair growing all over me. My clothes shred off, and I feel my face stretch out and my nose grows. I feel my ears extend so that I now have two large wolf ears. I feel my wolf itching to get out and I let her. ****

Lily

I look around the room, and I need to hunt. I see three people there. They all look at me with wide eyes. I try to make my way to them but something on my back paw stops me. It's a metal chain. I growl at the chain and begin to tug it off. The three people stand up, and I now can tell it's two males and one female. I hop off the bed and growl fiercely. One of the males comes toward me and I snarl at him. Before I can get out of the way he sticks something into my skin. I growl at him, and he steps back. I begin pacing, and every step becomes harder. I feel tired and wearied. I fall to the ground and whine. The same guy that approached me sits next to me. He pets my fur, and I look up at him with fearful eyes. He then says,"It's OK girl, shh." With those words I close my eyes and fall a sleep.****
