Running as a Wolf

My head throbs and I'm aching all over. I open my eyes and see that I'm in a concert room. I look around the room and find Luke sitting in a chair. I then remember me shifting and then losing myself. I try to sit up, but my arm is cuffed to the bed. I groan in pain, and Luke jolts awake. He walks over to my side and his face looks pained and worried. 

I then ask,"What happened?" Luke looks down at my cuffed hand, and I can see the sadness in his eyes.

Luke then says,"You lost control, and your wolf was too much. We had to sedate you, because you were going after us." I gasp when I hear him say that I tried to go after them. I feel awful.

Luke then says,"Ember please don't blame your self. It's normal for a werewolf  who shifts for the first time, to try to go after anyone." I nod my head knowing I shouldn't blame myself. 

I then ask,"How long have I been here?" 

Luke then says,"Only a day." I nod at his answer. I sit in silence trying to put everything together. 

*You did great, Ember.* Thanks. 

*It's going to be a lot easier the next time we shift.* When do we shift again?

*Usually a werewolf shifts a day after their first shift.* I sigh. The thought of shifting again makes me want to die. I shake the thought out of my head. 

I then ask,"Where's Julia and Jacob?"

Luke then says,"They left after you're shifting. They thought that it was best that you weren't bombarded with questions." I look at him confused.

I then ask,"What kind of questions would they ask?"  Luke looks up at me as if I'm the stupidest person alive. I shrug my shoulders to show him that I really don't know.

Luke then says,"Ember you're the chosen one of a prophecy that's been around since the first werewolf has been alive. No one know's what the chosen one's shift will be like or how powerful their wolf will be." Oh. I'm such an idiot.

I then ask,"So when can we leave?" 

Luke then says,"We can leave now if you're feeling OK." I nod and I follow Luke out of the room and down the hallway. I pass a few pack members on the way down the hallway. We reach the main lobby and I follow Luke outside. We walk into the woods and I silently follow him. We stop suddenly and I know Luke's here for me to shift again. 

Luke then says,"Go behind a tree to take your clothes off." I nod and go behind a tree, and begin taking off my clothes. Once I'm bare I close my eyes and picture my wolf. I then hear my bones snap, but it's not too painful. I fall to the ground, but I'm caught by four pas. I feel my face stretching and my back arching. In less than a minute my shift is complete. I open my eyes and I see two front paws. I smile in fascination. I look around and I can see so much better than in my human form. I step out of the tree's protection and I meet Luke. He has a black coat and is the same size as me. He looks at me with wide eyes, and I see love in his eyes too. 

Luke then says,"Your wolf is beautiful." I purr at his words and Luke smirks at me happily. Luke and I begin to run. We run as the sun hits our wolves fur. I smile as I run in the summer air, and everything I run by is a blur. I'm way faster than Luke. If I wanted to I could easily outrun him, but I chose to stay by his side. We begin to slow as we reach a small creek. 

I then ask,"Can we drink the water?"

Luke then says,"Yes it's safe." I nod my head and dip my head into the water. I stick out my long pink tongue and begin to lap up some water. It tastes delicious and fresh. Once we're both hydrated we play in the stream. I splash at Luke and he splashes back. We play for a while like two children. After playing for awhile I step out of the creek and shake off all of the water left on my fur. Luke does the same too.

Luke then says,"Follow me." I nod and follow Luke. We go through the forest, and I begin to wonder where we're going. Luke slows down and points to a cave with his muzzle. I look at the enchanting cave. It's covered in light green moss and flowers surround it with a wooden door. We approach the cave I smile and follow Luke to the opening of the cave. Luke grabs a hold of the handle made out of rope and opens the door. I enter it and at first everything is dark, but as we continue to walk lanterns begin to appear in the cave. We soon reach a small room that is lit with lanterns. An old brown blanket is on the floor, and a futon is against the caves stone wall. A T.V is hooked up to the wall and a  cupboard is under the t.v. I look at Luke surprised and he just stands there smiling.

I then ask,"How'd you do this?" Luke chuckles a little and smiles. 

Luke then says,"Well a year ago I decided that I wanted to have a place for just me and my mate. So one day when I was out for a run I came upon this cave. I knew that this would be the perfect place. Jacob helped me build this place so that it was safe for us to be in it." I stare at him my mouth hanging wide open with a shocked smile on my face. Luke looks at me with a guilty smile. I race up to him and lick him multiple times. He chuckles as I do so. Once I'm done licking him I look into his soft brown eyes. We stay there standing in our own little hideout. 

Luke then says,"Do you wanna shift?" I nod and Luke goes over to the futon and paws out some clothes. I grab the clothes with my mouth and Luke does the same. I turn around and wait for Luke to shift. In less than a minute Luke is shifted. 

Luke then says,"OK, you can look." I turn around and see Luke as his hot human form. Luke turns around and I picture my human self. My bones snap and my fur disappears. I open my eyes and I'm in my human form. I grab the black athletic shorts and old t-shirt I was given. I slip them on and brush my self off, making sure to get all of the leaves and branches out of my hair.

I then say,"I'm done." Luke turns around and faces me. He takes a few steps closer to me and soon were really close. I look at his light pink lips, and he looks at my lips too. We begin leaning in and soon our lips touch one another. I close my eyes and kiss Luke back passionately. We stay kissing for what seems an eternity, but we both know we half to pull away. Luke pulls away and I open my eyes. We both smile at one another warmly. I follow Luke to the futon and lay down with him. I lay my head on his warm chest and stare into his soft caramel eyes. He stares into my eyes and soon were intensely staring into one another's eyes. I feel my eyes droop and I let them close knowing I'm safe with my mate.*****
