Birthday Party

After the ceremony everyone filed out to the ball room. I've never been in it, but when I entered it I was blown away. There was a huge disco ball in the middle of the ball room, and everything was purple themed. Round tables were every where with purple tulips. There is a huge dance floor. I look over to Luke and smile at him surprised.

He then says,"I'm guessing you like it." I nod my head violently and Luke chuckles.

Luke then says,"Well this is your party. Go enjoy it." I smile a thank you to Luke and run off into the party. I find Julia and the girls, and I begin dancing like crazy. I let every bit of stress melts away and I replace it with a happy smile. Halfway through another song someone taps on my shoulder. I turn around and see Luke. Before I can say anything he begins dragging me through the dancing crowd. 

I then ask,"Luke where are we going?" 

Luke then says,"It's a surprise." I follow Luke out of the ballroom and into the hallway. I can still hear the blaring music. We reach Luke's office, and Luke stops at the door. 

He then says,"Go in. Your surprise awaits." I turn the doorknob confused and I enter his office. I then see my family. I stop in my tracks at the sight of my Mom, Dad, and brother. They stare at me with different emotions. 

I then whisper,"Mom?" She smiles sadly and walks over to me. She embraces me in a hug. I hold on to her as if she'll blow away. 

I then say,"I missed you so much." 

My Mom then says,"Oh my baby. We missed you so much." I pull away from her and tears are streaming down both of our faces. I walk over to my Dad. I pull him into a hug and he hugs me back protectively. I lastly make it to my brother. He stares at me and I stare at him. 

I then say,"I missed you so much." I try to hug him but he doesn't let me. My heart feels like it shattered into a million pieces. 

He then says,"You had us all worried sick, and we find out that you're perfectly fine! I can't believe you didn't even try to get back to us, and when you had the choice you didn't come home!" I close my eyes trying to get myself together. I open my eyes and I take in a deep breath.

I then say,"Look I understand that you're angry and you have the right to be. I missed you guys so much, you have no idea." I turn to leave the room, but  Dale stops me. I turn around and face him. His eyes have softened a bit and he doesn't look as angry. 

He then says,"Look, we're here so I want to make the most of the time we have together." I smile and my parents smile warmly back at me. I lead them to the ballroom, and they gasp in unison when they see it. I lead my family to the dance floor and we all begin to dance. I find Luke and we begin to dance together.

Luke then asks,"So did you like your surprise?" 

I then say,"I loved it, thank you. This has been the best birthday ever." Luke smiles at my words. I stare into Luke's eyes and he stares into mine. Soon we're both stuck in each other gaze. The music filling our ears and our love for each other wrapping around each other. 

Luke then says,"You better go, you're brother looks like he wants to kill me." I laugh and look over at Dale who's staring Luke down. I nod and make my way to Dale. 

I then say,"I'd like you to meet a friend of mine." I drag Dale through the crowd until I find Julia. She smiles when she sees me. 

I then say,"Julia this is my brother." Julia's eyes go wide, and I chuckle at her reaction.

Julia then says,"It's a pleasure to meet you. Wanna dance?" Dale nods and the two disappear into the crowd. I begin dancing by random people and let all the stress go. I finally have everything. My family, a pack, and my mate. I get lost in the music and dance the night away. 

An Hour Later

I'm dancing to a random song when the sound of glass shattering echoes through the whole ballroom. Everyone stops dancing and the music is cut. I look over to the window and see it broken. Everything happens fast from there. Tons of people begin to flood into the ballroom, and I know that their not part of the pack. People begin to die all around me. I start running through the crowd to find my family. I find my parents and keep them close to me. I then find Julia and Dale. Around 7 men come towards us. I give Julia a glance and she nods. I shift right then and there. My parents and brother scream, but I ignore their screams. I go for one of the men and kill him in an instance. Julia gets one of them killed, but three wolves take her down. I try to get to her, but I'm too late. By the time I'm at her side she's lifeless. I look down at her face, and sadness fills me. I bend over her and kiss her forehead softly. Rage fills me and grief overcomes me. I growl loudly, and I swear the building shakes. I go for the three wolves and take them down easily. A man who I can tell is a werewolf comes toward me. I run up to him, but before I can attack something is injected into me. I fall to the ground and I begin to feel weak. I look over to the man and he smirks at me evilly. I look over and see my family on their knees. The man who had injected something into me takes a gun and points it at my Dad's head. 

I then yell,"No!" Everything from then on is like slow motion. I watch helplessly as the man then shoots me dad and I watch as his body falls to the ground and blood spills out of his head.  My Mother screams in agony at the sight of my now dead Father. The man then moves to my Mom and I watch as he does the same to my Mom. 

My Brother then yells,"Ember, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for yelling at you. I love you OK?!" I nod my head and my brother smiles sadly. A tear rolls down his red cheeks and the man then shoots my brother. His body falls to the floor and I begin to scream. Tears spill down my cheeks and my heart is shattered. I fall to the ground. I whimper at the loss of my family, and I close my eyes.*****
