Natsu x Reader - Departure

The rain poured like the world was crying. Nastu stood in the mist of it all. Blood combining with the downpour, painting the ground pink.

You reached out your hand but he was too far.

To far away. To far gone. To far dead.

He's unreachable.

And you couldn't save him.

A futile rescue came to even more futile ending. It was written in the stars that he would perish in this day. You were stupid to think that you could stop it.

But you had to. You had to save the one that had saved you. The one that took you in. Showed you what love is. Captured your heart.

"Leave," he told you.

"No. Ne-ver," your voice cracked, taking steps forward.

He shoved you back. You stumbled from the push, trying to hold your ground. The rain pelted into you head, causing your head ache to worsen and for your eyes to spill even more tears.

"(Y/n). I. Am. Going. To. Die. Nothings going to stop that. But that doesn't mean you are allowed to die with me."

"WHY NOT? YOU LEAVING ME HERE ALONE WILL FEEL JUST THE SAME!"

"Don't say that." He hardened, anger weeping into his veins and running through his body.

"Nastu. Please, please don't do this to me," you pleaded to the man. The man with pink hair. The man with the power to destroy whomever. The man that has your heart. The man that for some reason has to lose to the universe.

"(Y/n). I'm not going to say this again. Go. Go to Lucy. Go to Gray. Go back to fairy tail and survive. Your survival means to me more than anything else. I can't pass knowing you'll be coming with me."

Finally he walked up to you. His shoes slapping puddles as he comes. Water pouring down his body like a waterfall. His hands reaching out to grasp your cheeks. His eyes, weak in life but strong in feeling, stared into yours like. I tomorrow.

"When you survive this day, I need you to remember this, because it's the only thing I'm going to leave behind."

Your hands grasped his arms. You didn't want to let go.

You hocked in a sob.

"What is it?"

"My sincere and everlasting love for the woman of my dreams." He leaned in, his lips ghosting yours.

"I love you (Y/F/N)" and then his lips encompassed yours, wrapping, caressing them in the most emotional kiss of your life.

And then everything went black and you went limp. Only awaking in a bed tucked away safely in a room at the guild.

"Your awake!" Lucy shouted, launching herself at you, wrapping your body in her arms. You felt her shaking as she hugged you.

Soon you came apart and you looked her in the eyes and asked the most terrifying question.

"Natsu... is he..."

All she had to do was nod her head for you to know that your entire universe had just come apart.
