The sun shines through the window pane and catches against the particles if dust that float in the air. It creeps across the wooden floor and linen bed sheets. Weaving between strands of Laf's hair and giving them a soft, hunny brown color.

His tanned skin seems to glow softly in the suns rays and his eyelashes seem to catch the light in a way that makes them all the more beautiful. His pink lips are swollen from a night of tender moment, and the smell of excitement hangs in the air.

Although the sheets cover Laf's bottom half and tangled between his legs in a mess of soft fabric, his exposed skin is covered in an array of markings that tell the story of the night prior. Laf's toned body was something to behold and, in Hercs mind, something to hold onto.

Herc sat on the edge of the bed opposite Laf, taking in his husbands beauty and peaceful nature. He had forgotten such mornings like this were possible.

Mornings where the world seemed balanced when he opened his eyes and felt his lovers warm breath against his skin. The rising and falling of chests that took in oxygen and let it out in steady breaths, and the hearts rythmic thumping that could easily make someone drift back to sleep with no intention of waking up at a reasonable hour. The warm bed invited Herc to slip back into it's grasp, and yet he continued to fight the possibility of happiness.

Why?

He had done nothing to deserve the torture his own mind bestowed upon him, so why not injoy this moment? So he slid back into his bed and let the warm blankets hold him there. Soon his struggle was rewarded with Laf's arms wrapped lovingly around his torso, allowing Herc to rest his chin on a head of messy curls.

For the first time in what felt like forever, Herc made a selfish decision. He captured his lovers lips in a gentle kiss, and saw as Laf's eyes fluttered open in response. Laf's lips tasted of sugar from days spent training the bakery staff to make simple recipes, and were still soft to spite the damage.

Herc felt a calm wash over his body as he slipped into the pleasant unknown for a second time and, though he remembered the feeling, experiencing it was something far more spectacular.

The warmth of late morning sun, and the soft sheets that cover exposed skin. The taste of sugar on his partners lips. It was all so surreal and yet reminded of him of a time when all his mornings were spent the same way.

Now, fully clothed, the two lovers waited for their child to be dropped off after a sleepover at the house Angelica is renting. Cami has created quite a bond with Cathrine and the twins since their arrival. Hopefully same goes for Hugh's family.

They have found an apartment, and have even mentioned staying even after their daughters recovery. Something about fixing burned bridges. Herc knew he shoud be excited, but he was only more stressed.

But, when the world seemed against them, he and Lafayette always found a way. Shure, things were a little rough at the moment but such is life. Love is the one power that can build worlds and destroy them just as quickly. However the rewards are worth the risk.

Lafayette stood in the kitchen, flipping the french toast with a spatula. Herc sipped his coffee and smiled, leaning againt the coner beside the stove. Lafayette was quietly humming french songs again, lost in thought.

"La vie en rose?" Herc asked

Laf crinkled his nose in an adorable mocking manner. He slid the slice of french toast onto a plate, handing it Herc before turning off the stove.

"Maybe." Laf said.

Laf kissed Hercs cheek, taking his own plate and plopping down on the couch. Herc followed behind him, careful to avoid spilling anything.

"Darling, I thought you said people have to eat at the table?" Herc said.

"Non, Cami must eat at the table." Laf explained, "I am an adult."

Herc shook his head, sitting down beside Laf. He set his coffee on the side table so that a free hand rest on Laf's knee. Lafayette leaned into Hercs side, and they watched a movie.

Life can't be perfect, but moments can. Nomatter what, some fractions of the day are beyond wonderful and others... below average. However you interpret them determines the quality of the day.

This note is gonna be a little bit long but please read it. I am not 100% back from my break yet, but today I had this wonderful surge of creativity.

Today is the last day of school for me so I'm practically buzzing with summer vibes. I plan to be back fully between May 25- June 15.

Welp
