[October 25]

When a child cries in soft sobs you may feel sorry, frustrated, or perhaps even angry. However when that child is your own, things change. You feel protective of that child, and become angry at who ever caused the child harm or sadness. But what if there is nobody to blame? What if you were only left with anger you had no control of, and nobody to attach it to.

All you want if for someone to be a fault so you may do your child justice by defending them. With other children, you make them appologize and hug it out. But when there is nobody to blame, you do the hugging and you take responsibility. Eventhough it isn't your fault.

Hugh paces a hospital hallway in small circles. Laf sits beside Cami, who has fallen asleep in his arms. Beside them is Elena who has her shakey hands clasped together and her eyes are foucused on clean white floors. The eldest boy attempts to disrtact his younger brother by allowing him to play on his phone.

Hercules stands by the door, watching his brother pace slowly. A nurse walks by and Herc has to grip his Hughs shoulder to keep the two from colliding. Hugh is startled and looks around, giving the nurse an apologetic smile.

It had been 5 hours since they came to wait, while Amy was in surgery. It was a long awaited event, filled with testing and doctors visits. Everyone had stopped by to deliver flowers, and gifts for the young girl who was currently in a white room, drugged asleep.

Herc let go of Hughs shoulder and he watched as his brother continued pacing. He crouched down to wisper into Laf ear.

"I think you sould take Cami, and Hughs family back to our home okay. They probably need some good rest."

Laf simply nodded, and woke his sleeping daughter. Cami stirred and lifted her head, streching her arms out. Laf spoke gently to Hughs wife, and she nodded a couple times before standing up. She tenderly patted her son's heads before gesturing for them to stand up.

Elena kissed her husband goodbye and her and the boys disappeared down the hall. Laf wrapped his arms around Herc's neck, resting their forheads together.

"Je t'aime." He whispered "call us if anything happens."

Herc nodded, and looked down to Cami. He crouched down to her level and smiled weakly. Cami kissed her dad's forhead.

"It all going to be okay, Amy will be ok. I know it." Cami said, and Hec smiled. "And when she does get all better, we can spend Halloween together."

*,*,*,*,

Minutes feel like hours, hours feel like eternity. Hugh's body aches but the feeling is nothing compared to his aching heart. He never stops pacing as another two hours pass. Herc occasionally glances up, making shure Hugh doesn't colapse from exhaustion.

The door beside Herc creaks and both of the snap their eyes up to see who left the room. It was the doctor with a rather cheery expression.

"Are you the father?" He said as he looked at hugh.

"I am." Hugh replied, barely audible.

"Sir, your daughter is a tough girl, and with a bit of rest she is expected to make a strong recovery." The doctor said.

Hugh's eyes watered and a small smile appeared on his face

"She's ok." Hugh whispered.

Herc stood up and smiled. He walked over to his brother, engulfing him in a hug. Hugh hugged back. When they sepperated, Herc pulled his phone out to text Laf.

Although tragedies may happen, and there may be nobody to blame. What matters is to focus on the positve. Even when the world seems to crumble, as long as you attempt to build it up again you will be ok in the end.
