"She's waking up!" I heard someone cry, as the hand that held mine increased its hold. My head hurt and my arm hurt a whole lot more. Letting out a quiet whimper, I peeled my eyes open to see Grayson looking down at me with what seemed to be overwhelming relief.
"Gosh, you scared me so much Cass, you've been out for 2 days due to the loss of blood. Thankfully they managed to give you a blood transfusion last night or otherwise you wouldn't have made it." He spilled, cupping my face in his hand as he stared intensely into my eyes making me feel slightly light-headed.
"I-I'm fine." I croaked, not quite sure how to reply to that but Grayson didn't mind, he seemed to be happy enough that I was just awake and that made my heart swell. He was the best.
"I was so worried, and mad at that guy, I was close to killing him but luckily I got pulled away before I could fully finish him. I needed to be here for you." He whispered as I nodded with a weak smile.
"Thank you."
He said nothing in response and instead embraced me, kissing my cheek softly before allowing us to relax in the comforting silence that hung over us like a baby's blanket.
"I love you gray..." I murmured, relaxing against him as he smiled, I feel like I never said it enough to him and he deserved to hear it every moment of every day. He was so special and rare that I needed to keep a grasp on him with two hands, I could never let him go.
We were simply enjoying each other's company when there was a knock on my door. I look at Grayson expectantly, thinking that he'd know who it was but he shook his head and I frowned, not having an idea who it could be.
With a huff, my boyfriend pushed himself up and answered the door to reveal Ethan holding flowers and a massive chocolate bar.
"Surprise..." he smiled softly as I returned the expression genuinely happy to see him.
"How are you here?" I grinned as he chuckled, coming over and putting the flowers in the vase before perching on the edge of the bed.
"The officers classed it as a traumatic experience and therefore I'm allowed accompanied visits. My guard is getting himself a coffee, I have an hour." He informed me. I nodded but I was slightly disappointed that our time was limited.
"So, what have you found about your makeup line?" He asked as I perked up at the mention of my recent campaign. I was also grateful that he changed the subject and dragged the conversation away from what had led to me being here.
"It's launching in about a week. As soon as I'm out of here, I need to do my shoot and once that's ready then they're getting put up on display for the launch. I'm so excited, everything looks so good!" I exclaimed as he pulled me closer, looking equally as excited as me, that was a good friend right there.
"The contour kits is called cocoa kits and the eyeshadows are called cookie chips! I'm so excited Ethan!" I told him as he smiled at me.
"I know, and I'm happy that you're happy." He said truthfully just as Grayson spoke up.
"You'll have to try and see if you can come to her launch at Sephora next Thursday." He smiled which surprised me since he hated that he thought of Ethan as competition. Maybe he'd finally moved on...
Ethan looked at him with an unreadable expression in his eyes before he nodded, a small smile playing his lips, "I'll definitely try, I wouldn't want to miss it for the world."
"Good!" I smiled. Resting my head on his shoulder as Grayson cleared his throat.
"How about a game of fortnite?"
I groaned quietly, these two boys had been obsessed since it came out, especially Ethan who had spent many hours just sitting there and playing. I couldn't help thinking that he'd probably experienced withdrawal symptoms since he'd been locked up.
"Yes!" He cheered as I smiled, I may like the game but I wasn't about to take away his happiness. He didn't deserve it.
Choosing not to play, I leant back, slowly making myself comfortable with the help of both the twins before focusing my attention on the game that the twins were playing. Luckily I had been given a tv or otherwise I would've been even more bored out of my mind.
The twins played competitively despite them being in the same team. They kept yelling at each other over stupid things but honestly, I didn't care. It felt like old times and I loved it.
The game ended pretty quickly due to the twins' arguing and they didn't win- shocker!
Laughing, I stuck my tongue out at them, "How did you not win boys?"
They shrugged seeming genuinely surprised at their loss, how did they not see that they were destined to lose?
Sadly, the atmosphere quickly changed and the officer walked in, handcuffs clutching his hands.
"Come on Dolan, time's up." He grunted, making tears sting my eyes, I didn't want him to leave yet.
"Can't he stay another 15 minutes..?" I asked quietly, quickly wiping the tear that freed itself.
The guard inspected me, his eyes softening, before speaking to me in such a soft tone that I wasn't even sure it was him.
"I'm sorry miss but I have to stick to the rules. He can come back tomorrow though."
I nodded in dismay before speaking up again.
"Will he be able to come to my makeup launch envy Thursday..?" I asked and his eyes widened as he looked at me.
"Makeup launch?"
I nodded, "Yeah... it's crazy right..? I went from being a nobody at school to Cassidy Jenkins, model." I whispered at he looked at me in shock.
"My wife is a huge fan! If you can get her to come to your makeup launch then I'm sure I could pull a few strings to get Ethan there." He offered as I nodded quickly.
"Deal."
