I stared at her in shock, my stomach churning and my eyes watering. Why her? Of course, I couldn't let my tears fall, instead, I blinked them back to ensure that my mascara didn't run. The beauticians had actually spent ages on this look to say that the makeup was bare minimum.

If Stacie had recognised it was me, she didn't let on, although I know that she probably did but thankfully, didn't want to cause a scene.
"Hi Cassidy, it's very nice to meet you." She smiled, putting on her sweet voice, extending her hand for me to shake. Slowly, I took her hand in mine, shaking it once, as I did so, I noticed her eyeball twitch slightly at the contact. She was still repulsed by me.

"Right! Let's get started!" Jack smiled, throwing me a questioning look when Stacie's back was turned, he knew there was something off between us. I just gave a shrug in reply and made my way to the set, not wanting to cause a problem.

"Right, girls, this photo shoot, we really want to capture pure friendship and I know it's hard since you just met but you need to show true happiness and maybe throw in a couple of hugs too?" The photographer suggested as I gulped, as if it couldn't get any worse...
By the expression on her face, Stacie also wasn't thrilled at the idea.

"I'm only doing this for the job," she hissed before throwing her arms around me, plastering on a huge, fake smile on her face, I stumbled slightly before finding my balance and following suit, hoping that this would provide some good shots despite feeling like I was going to throw up, she hated me, she made my life a living hell and now, we had to pretend we were best friends. It's not easy.

"Yes that's great! We definitely have a shot in here, now individual. Cassidy, you go first since you're more experienced. Stacie, please observe some expressions and angles and replicate them in your shoot later."
I felt my cheeks redden and Stacie looked ready to kill, she hated that she had to copy a girl who she used to think was so below her.

Trying to ignore the burning glare, I focused on the shoot, if I let myself focus on the death glares that I was receiving then I'd most likely be so uncomfortable that a perfect shot would never be captured. Professionalism was what mattered most in this industry. No matter how uncomfortable you felt, you had to keep going, perfection was the objective.

Once I'd finally finished, I rushed off, downing a bottle of water before sitting at the side to watch Stacie's shoot. Grayson came to sit beside me whilst I did and although he didn't speak, I was just glad to have the silent company.

"You didn't listen you silly girl! Did you not watch Cassidy? She has her angles down to a tee and you haven't done anything like her so far! How can you expect us to remember your name if you don't bring anything good to the table! Especially when you don't listen too!" The photographer shouted as Stacie simply rolled her eyes.
"Shut up David, anyone with a pair of eyes can see that I'm miles prettier than Cassidy here. You know that in high school she used to be obese? How sad. Luckily for you, I'm consistent with my weight so that's another factor we have in favour of me. What I'm trying to say is that compared to her, I'm effortlessly flawless, you'll remember me." She laughed, flipping her hair as David stared at her in outrage.

"You know what, I will remember you for all the wrong reasons. Cassidy is a well-respected model and I think everyone should be proud of her for losing the weight and becoming a model! It's incredibly disrespectful to bring up someone's past like that! Maybe Cassidy wanted to keep that private or maybe there was an underlying problem that caused it! You don't know anything about this girl and I can see that you were definitely a meal girl in high school and I hate to break it to you darling but they stay mean and don't seem to get anywhere in life. And on that note, you're fired."

Stacie's jaw hung open and upon the final two words, her lips moved but no sound came out and I can't say that I wasn't equally as shocked. David had done most of my shoots but I never knew that he felt this strongly. I had heard that he was always overprotective of his models but I never knew that he could think of so many kind things to say to me. It was overwhelmingly positive.

With a smile, I got up and hugged him tightly, "Thank you." I whispered as he returned a large grin and patted my head fondly.
Stacie glared at us in disgust before finally speaking up.
"I don't even need you or this shoot! I can find a much better one by myself and soon I'll be the most popular model in the world and you'll regret firing me and you'll wish that you dropped her instead." She snapped, pointing at me, as David simply rolled his eyes.

"That may be the case sweetheart but I'll never regret this because my dear, you're a b*tch and I don't want to work with that, thank you very much."
