Evelyn's POV
My eyes unwittingly open as my stomach is churning. The room is still dark, meaning it wasn't morning yet. I instinctually throw the blanket off my legs and spring off the bed. My vision is adjusted to the dark lighting so I'm reminded I'm in a foreign bedroom. I run to the door and quickly swing the bathroom door open and turn on the lights before kneeling in front of the toilet bowl, regurgitating the contents of my stomach. The contractions of my stomach are so strong, I feel tears streaming down my face. I let out weeps as I've never felt so much pain in puking. I wit I'm not fully awake since my eyes are far too heavy to keep open.
What feels like a few minutes later, my eyes spring open again, seeing the puke in the bowl and release more. I'm sat in a different position; now hugging the base of the toilet with my legs and hugging the bowl as if it were a person. I reach up to the lever, pulling it down to flush the vomit away, then rest my arm on the seat and lie my head down as the tears continue moistening my cheeks. Right now, the one thing I do regret is drinking all that alcohol. Although it wasn't enough to drunken me, since I've never consumed it before, it didn't agree with me.
The third time my eyes open, I see Niall knelt beside me as he rubs circles on my back. He flushes the puke in the bowl then stands up, walking out of the bathroom, telling me he'll be right back.
This time, Sean wakes me up then helps me stand and closes the toilet seat so I could sit down. He then hands me a couple of pills and a glass of water, telling me all the symptoms it will cure.
"I'll tell you one thing," he chuckles. "you're doing way better than I was my first time drinking. My sick was everywhere and I didn't even know where I was. Do you know where you are?"
"Sean," I croak. "My body just isn't used to alcohol."
"Yet." he adds in a smile. "Most of the friends you've been making are Irish. You're bound to grow immune." he says as he sits on the counter of the sink. "As a matter of fact, Niall and I go out drinking every Saturday. Would you like to join us? I could introduce you to my friend Shannon, I think you'd get on well with her, she loves a craic."
"I really shouldn't-" I mumble.
"C'mon," he coaxes. "I promise you'll have a bit of fun. You don't have to drink, I was just kidding about that. But we would love for you to come with us." I'm sat on the toilet, just looking up at his smiley face, trying my hardest to keep my eyes open.
"Can I think about it?" I huff. "I'm just too tired to think right now." He chuckles an 'of course' then jumps down from the counter, flicking his head towards the hallway. I scuff behind him out of the bathroom, turning the lights off before closing the door.
"You can sleep for a little while longer while I make some bagels," he says, taking the cup of water out of my hand. "I'll send Niall to wake you once he gets back."
"Where'd he go?"
"I don't know," he admits. "He just told me you were sick in the toilet then left. Probably went out to buy some meds," he chuckles. "I've already got them, idiot."
I breathily laugh at his mockery, feeling like I'm gonna pass out on the floor so I make my actions as obvious as possible to inform him I'm going back to bed without actually verbally stating so.
As I lay down in bed, my need for sleep seems to disappear as I stare at the ceiling, watching the fan spin. As I'm staring up at it, my mind is playing back last night as if I were watching a film.
I quickly snap myself out of it by rolling over but then take in his scent from the bed. I get flashes of him thrusting into me, his eyes full of craving. Skin covered in a thin layer of sweat as his hair seemed to be damped by it as well. I can still hear his husky voice whispering curse words in my ear along with my name.
I catch my breathing beginning to roughen. My chest rises and falls as if I had just witnessed someone get murdered. I had the hots for Niall and I couldn't deny it. How would I tell Colleen that I left her party with her "brother", other than the guy she set me up with? How will I tell her I may or may not have lost my virginity to him? How will I tell her that I enjoyed it? Is this considered breaking "girl code" (hooking up with family friends)?
I'm awoken as I hear Sean's voice blaring outside, laughing at Niall for going out to buy medicine then telling him to wake me. The door opens behind me, being I'm turned away from it. I keep my eyes closed, not yet having the energy to turn around to acknowledge his presence. The door softly closes and quiet footsteps are made towards me. The bed shakes, meaning he's climbed on. I hear as he exhales quietly. After a couple sounds of gentle banging against the wall, he sighs, cursing through his breath.
"Why did I do it?" he whispers to himself. His fingertips softly run over my arm as if he were scared to hurt me. "She was a virgin." He knew. How did he know? Was it that noticeable?
He lightly shakes me as he whispers my name. I gradually open my eyes, seeing him hunched over me, smile stamped on his face.
"C'mon out," he murmurs through his teeth. "Sean made breakfast."
I bring the sheet over my head, groaning because of sleepiness. His laugh goes from muffled to defined as he crawls under the sheets too. I open my eyes to see Niall's eyes squinted as his smile is beaming. His hands find their way to my sides and he pulls my body to his, holding me tightly against him. The sheets fall gracefully over us, narrowing my view to only Niall, who's quiet as he stares at me. I follow his pupils as they don't seem to stay still, until they lock on mine, causing them to dilate. He swallows before leaning in but I quickly push him away, leaving him stunned. I somehow found the energy to roll off of the bed and stand to my feet. He looks so confused, and a bit frustrated, coming out from under the sheets and seeing me walk towards the door but quickly scoots off the bed and runs in front of the door before I get a chance to.
"What the hell?" he spits. I cover my mouth, not wanting to speak because of morning breath. He takes every step I do, not letting me through the doorway. I walk back to the bed and let myself fall to the width of it. He, as I thought he would, does the same so I run for the door and into the restroom, closing myself in. I quickly pee then try to make the best of what Sean has, swashing some mouthwash (multiple times (to be safe)). I softly open the door, quietly walking to the kitchen to see Sean over the stove while Niall doesn't look at all content putting plates on the table. I pass by the kitchen opening and see Sean smile at me as if he knew what I was about to do. I walk through the hallway, which leads to the living room and dining room, and peek into the dining room, seeing Niall's back to me. As I take hold of his shirt, it catches him by surprise, letting out a yelp but realises it's only me. I lean against the hall wall and place my hand behind his neck, pulling him down for a kiss. As I pull away, he leans his forehead against mine and his mouth remains just centimetres away. He smiles and I feel his breathy chuckle against my lips.
