Lexi’s POV
No one was back in the common room. I knew that my mission had been a success. I was surprisingly tired so I changed out of my robes and crawled into my bed.
I was awoken a while later by Ginny coming back into the dorm room. She always makes so much noise. I threw a pillow at her and that was when she noticed that I was sleeping.
“Sorry. I didn’t see you.”
“It’s fine. Just be quiet please.”
I soon fell back asleep and I didn’t have any dreams for the rest of the night.
I didn’t want to wake up the next morning but I did. Sadly, I had a full day of classes today. I got up and got ready so that I had enough time to go down to the Great Hall.
My day was extremely boring. All of my classes were the same as yesterday. Explaining what we would be doing throughout the year, then we would open our textbooks and just barely start a section for the day. By the time that the school part of the day was finished, I was bored out of my mind.
I decided that the only thing to keep me from going crazy would be to go outside and sit by the lake. I had a spot on the far side of the lake that over-looked everything of the grounds and I loved it. I normally drew while I was up there. It was that pretty. Sometimes I would get there at the perfect time so I could sketch the sunset but still have enough time to get back inside before dark.
Today, I didn’t draw. I just sat there and thought. I thought about everything that had happened in the first two weeks of moving to England. Number one, we moved to England, number two, I got to spend time with my friends before school started, number three, the competition that’s happening at Hogwarts, number four, I now have this obsession with Draco Malfoy.
I really don’t know if Draco and I are dating. I mean I like him and I would love to be his girlfriend, but I’m not sure about his feelings. I’ll have to ask him the next time he yanks me into a closet.
I heard the bell chime signalling 5 o’clock and I knew that I had to rush back so I wasn’t late to dinner. I ran all the way back to the castle. Quite frankly, I was surprised that I didn’t fall.
I made it into the castle just as Ginny was walking into the Great Hall so I joined her. When we got in, we saw everyone already seated. We quickly went to our seats before anyone noticed that we were late. We were all waiting for our dinner to appear until Dumbledore cleared his throat.
“As I told you all before, Hogwarts will be hosting the Tri-Wizard Tournament this year, so with that, I introduce the schools. Beauxbatons and Durmstrang.”
The performance that they did was amazing. The Beauxbatons were beautiful and the Durmstrang students were strong and mysterious. I barely paid attention to the ending though because Draco was facing me. I mean paid attention to them when they first came in, but after that my attention span went from full to Draco.
I was a little disappointed when I had to turn back around and I couldn’t look at Draco. Everyone tried to include me in the conversation but I was too distracted. They knew that after I disappeared for a while that I was going to be distant. It wasn’t something that I purposely did, it just kind of happened. My head goes into the clouds and takes a while to float back down.
Our dinner was delicious as always. I always loved Hogwarts’ food for some reason. I ate quickly then waited to be dismissed. I wanted to go back to my spot before the sunset. As soon as we were dismissed, I bolted. I ran all the way to my spot so I could watch the sunset. I couldn’t wait until next year when my curfew is later. It’s only a half an hour but it gave me more time to do the things that I wanted to do outside.
I started to head back when I noticed the sun start to set. I didn’t want to have to sprint to the castle so I left early. I went up to the common room to tell everyone where I was going. I figured that I would actually go to the library tonight considering that I need something as my alibi for last night.
When I got to the library I picked out a book and started to read. I didn’t know what I was reading I just knew that I was engrossed in it. I was sat in the furthest corner of the library because I like cozy spaces when I read.
“Excuse me is this spot taken?” Someone asked me in a weird version of a British accent.
“No. It’s not.” I said without looking up.
“You know Lex, the whole point of the fake voice was to make you look at me.” The person whispered in my ear.
I looked up then because I would know that voice anywhere. I smiled at him as he took a seat next to me.
“I missed you, Lex.” He whispered to me.
“I missed you too.” I said back.
“You know, it was terrible not being able to see you all day.” He said while brushing some hair behind my ear.
“I have to agree with that.”
“Will I get to see you tomorrow?”
“I don’t know, will you?”
“ I hope to.”
“ I have an idea. Meet me outside the castle tomorrow after dinner. I want to take you somewhere secret.” I said.
“Okay.”
“ I have to go back to my common room now, but I see you tomorrow, okay?”
“Okay.” He said before he kissed my cheek goodbye.
I went up to the librarian and checked out the book I had been reading. I then went up to the common room to find Harry playing wizard chess with Ron.
“Oh, I want to play.” I said while running over to where he was sitting.
“You can play me after Ron.” He said without looking up.
“Okay.”
I knew that Harry and Ron took forever to play one game so I went up to the dorm room to get ready for bed beforehand.
I was right. When I came back down the stairs they were still playing. Luckily they were almost done. They finished soon after with Ron winning. Harry was close but Ron had been playing longer so he knew the tricks.
Harry and I played for what felt like forever before I finally beat him. He just needs a little more practice before he could beat me. The boys did a rematch after Harry’s and my game had ended. I wished the boys good night after a while because I could barely keep my eyes open. I went upstairs and literally flopped into my bed. I fell asleep soon after and that sleep was one of my best sleeps ever.
