I woke up early the next morning. That was the first weird thing that happened that day. It’s the first day of school and I want everything to be perfect. I’m the type of girl who gets straight A’s but doesn’t study, at all. I’ll help other people study but I physically cannot study.

I decided to straighten my hair since I had time.I also made sure that I put on mascara and my favorite lip gloss. I put on my robes and a pair of black flats. I walked out into the dormitory to find that Hermione was wide awake and Ginny was just starting to wake up.

I walked over to Ginny as a plan was brewing in my head. I leaned down by her ear while Hermione looked at me questioningly. I signalled for her to cover her ears and she  just nodded. She has learned that when I say to do something, do it. I made sure that Hermione had her ears covered then I took a deep breath and screamed as loud as I could in Ginny’s ear.

Ginny jumped up wide awake. She was flailing her arms while her eyes were still shut. I almost got hit a couple times before she opened her eyes. Hermione and I were rolling on the floor laughing by the time she actually woke up. She rolled her eyes as she got up and went into the bathroom.

“We’ll meet you downstairs in the Common Room.” I said in between giggles.

“I hate you.” I heard her mumble as I left the room.

“Love you too!” I yelled back.

Hermione and I walked downstairs to find the boys all ready.

“Wow, you two are up early.”Hermione said.

“Yeah, thanks to the ear-piercing scream this morning.” Harry said while looking at me.

I just smiled guiltily. That’s when Ginny made her appearance looking perfect for the first day of school. I saw Harry’s eyes glaze over as she walked into the room. I know that he has had crush on her since her first year. They would look so adorable together.

We all walked out the portrait hole as I was thinking about them being together. I didn’t even notice that we were in the Great Hall until I saw all the people and smelled the food. I came back to reality and followed everyone to a place to sit.

It was normal for me to be the follower of the group. I can be outgoing but I don’t like to be around a lot of people. Unless I’m singing. I have to trust the people though. That’s why I stick towards the back and I’m only really comfortable around Ginny and Harry. They are the siblings that I never had really. Harry’s the over protective big brother and Ginny is the understanding sister.

I didn’t eat very much but that is normal for me. I naturally just don’t eat a bunch. During breaks, I hardly ever eat breakfast and my parents have to remind me that it was dinner time. My stomach is like the size of a pea apparently.

My first class of the day is History of Magic. Yay. My favorite class! (note the sarcasm)

After trying to keep my eyes open for an hour, it was time for my favorite class. Potions. I loved the concept of making new things. It’s interesting to me. What made it even better was that I had double potions and it was my last class for the rest of the day!

I walked in and I saw the familiar faces of the students in the grade above me. That’s right, I got moved up a grade in potions because Professor Snape thought that I wasn’t challenged enough in my level potions class. Hermione is my partner for the class and we are top of the class. Her just two grade-points above me.

Instead of talking about what we were going to do the entire year, Professor Snape had us do a potion right off.  It was a cure for boils. This was a second year potion. I don’t know how people have trouble with this. It’s extremely easy.

I finished quickly and turned in my vial of potion. Snape watched me put it on his desk but he continued his work at his desk. I knew it wasn’t a big surprise that I was done first. I normally was.

Since I had finished my potion, Snape had me start on the second potion that he had for us to do today. It was a calming draught. Another easy potion for me but others might not agree.

Towards the end of class, my potion turned a dreamy blue and I knew that it was finished. I turned in a vial of this also. I was the dismissed and as I was leaving the room, I could have sworn that I felt someone staring at me from the front of the class.

Unknown POV

She’s gorgeous in everything she does. I’ve tried to not to have anything to do with her but I have failed miserably every time. I can’t get her out of my head. Her accent,

her eyes, her hair, the way she bites down on her lip out of habit. It wouldn’t work though. It would never work. She hates me as it is. I just feel a pull to her though.

Please let me know what you think! Should I continue? ~Peighton
