"Aren't you and Mrs Ingram married?" A student asks. The few other students in the room that decided to stay after school to study for finals perk up at her question.
"We are." Elizabeth responds, smiling whilst thinking about her wife. As if on que, Xena walks into the room carrying a box of doughnuts. Elizabeth stands and walks to her, smiling widely. They ignore the coos of the students as Elizabeth brings the brunette into her arms and kisses her softly.
"Don't tell anyone you saw that, we aren't supposed to kiss in front of students." Elizabeth turns and warns the teens, walking back to the desk at the back where a few students are working.
"Don't worry Mrs C, we didn't see anything." A boy says, winking at his boyfriend who pretends to zip his lips and throw away the key. Xena laughs and places the treats on the table.
"I didn't know you all would still be here but I'm glad I got enough for you." Xena opens the box to reveal a dozen doughnuts of varying flavours. Elizabeth smiles and picks up her favourite, a maple glazed doughnut.
"Oh wow, thanks Mrs Ingram!" One of the students stands and grabs a doughnut. The students begin to talk amongst themselves, allowing the lovebirds to have a conversation in private.
"So how's studying going?" Xena asks her wife, pulling up a chair to sit beside her. Elizabeth takes the younger woman's hand in hers, a habit she's had since the very beginning of their relationship.
"It's going well. We should be done shortly and then we can go home to Whiskey." Elizabeth informs her, smiling and caressing her knuckles.
"Let's hope he hasn't completely destroyed the house, we worked too hard to have it be ruined." Xena says, taking a bite out of Elizabeth's doughnut. That earns her a light smack on her leg.
"He weighs like two kilos, how could he destroy our whole house?" Elizabeth asks, chuckling at the thought.
"You have clearly never owned a kitten before." Xena claims, glancing at the students to make sure they aren't paying attention before kissing Elizabeth quickly.
"I love you." Elizabeth says whilst laughing at Xena's observation. Her words make Xena smile widely and blush.
"I love you too." Xena whispers, holding Elizabeth's hand tightly as if she would disappear any second. The women can finally forget about their fears and love out in the open.
Well, maybe not love...
