Chapter Twelve: The Unexpected Visitor

Aliona smiled as she finished up her round, she couldn't be happier that things were going so well between her and Iker; all of her friends and work colleagues had noticed how happy she had been as of late.

“Come on Aliona, who is he?” Tina said as she approached the blonde, she was curious as to why her best friend was happy all of the time.

Aliona sighed as she looked at her friend, she knew that Tina wasn’t going to drop this; it had been a week since Real Madrid had arrived at her parents’ ranch, in two weeks they would be leaving to head back to the capital.

“Fine, his name is Iker, we had our first date on Wednesday,” Aliona said making Tina grin excitedly at her friend’s admission, she couldn't believe that the blonde had finally had a date and was happy after what Daniel had done to her.

“So come on tell me about him,” Tina said eagerly making the blonde sigh as she ran a hand through her hair; however she stopped when she spotted a man with brown hair looking at her, she froze in place as she looked at him.

Tina frowned before she turned to see what Aliona was looking at, however she didn't expect to see Daniel Valdes standing in the hospital staring at Aliona; she never thought she’d see his smug face again after he had walked out on the blonde.

“Hola Aliona,” Daniel said as he walked towards his ex-girlfriend who seemed to have stopped functioning; she seemed stuck on the idea that he was walking back into her life after all these years.

“Daniel, what are you doing here?” Tina asked as she rested a comforting hand on Aliona’s shoulder; she could see that her friend was in shock right now and she didn't blame her.

“I came to see Aliona… I’ve been hearing some interesting things,” Daniel said making the blonde lick her lips nervously, she knew that he knew she was dating Iker; she had a horrible feeling what he was here for.

Aliona swallowed as she blinked, she couldn't believe that he was here that he had come back after all this time when she was finally moving on.

“I think we need to talk Aliona… collect your things, I’ll meet you back at your parents ranch, I believe that it’s time I was allowed into my children’s lives,” Daniel said making the blonde close her eyes, it was happening again; he wasn’t ever going to let her go and was punishing her for being happy with someone else.

Stepping out of her car dressed in a black/white bold stripe top and ultra-skinny jean in washed blue black paired with black ankle boots.

Aliona closed her eyes as she made her way up the steps of the house, she knew that Iker had seen her return early and it was only a matter of time before he came looking for her.

Stepping into her house, she was greeted by the sight of her parents talking to Jose; they all turned their attention to her surprised that she was home early.

Alexandria looked at her daughter concerned as she realised that something was wrong.

“Daniel’s on his way here,” Aliona said as tears filled her eyes; her parents stared at her furious that the lawyer that he could come back whenever he wanted to hurt Aliona.

Jose slipped out of the house knowing that this was none of his business; he had heard from Nathaniel what Daniel was like and it worried him what this could do to Iker.

“What does he want?” Alexandria asked as she moved to comfort her daughter, she couldn't believe that Daniel was still messing with Aliona’s life after he had walked out on her while she was pregnant with the twins.

“He knows about me and Iker… he wants to see the twins,” Aliona said as she cried softly, her mother held her close as she tried to comfort her; however she knew that it was pointless and that Daniel would do whatever he wanted.

The knock at the door made Aliona pull away from her mother and wipe away her tears as her father moved to answer the door; the blonde bit her lip when she realised that it was Iker.

“Aliona?” the Spaniard asked concerned when he noticed that she had been crying, he ignored Nathaniel’s attempts to get him to leave as he moved to comfort his girlfriend; Alexandria ushered her husband out of the room leaving them alone.

“Aliona… what’s wrong? What happened?” Iker asked worried, he didn't like her seeing her like this and wanted to know what had happened; he wrapped his arms around her and held her close.

“Daniel’s back, he’s on his way here,” Aliona murmured making Iker stiffen as he remembered what she had told him about her ex-boyfriend; he frowned as he realised just what Daniel was doing, he couldn't believe that he was messing with Aliona’s life.

The blonde ran a hand through her hair; she offered him a small reassuring smile as she tried to keep herself calm, she couldn't have herself falling apart when Daniel arrived, she doubted that he would be coming alone.

Aliona had heard through passing that Daniel was now engaged to some glamour model that they had attended high school with; it hadn’t surprised Aliona that it was someone that she had hated.

“You better go,” Aliona said softly as her father called from the living room that Daniel was here with his fiancée; however Iker shook his head and pressed a kiss to her lips, he wasn’t going to leave her alone like this.

“I’m staying, I won’t let him get to you Aliona,” the Spaniard said making the blonde smile up at him before she kissed him, she didn't know what she would do if she hadn’t have found him.

Taking Iker’s hand, Aliona headed into the living room where her parents were glaring at Daniel and his fiancée, Delilah Francis, who were settling themselves onto the couch.

Delilah was looking around the room in disgust before her eyes focused on Aliona, a look of hatred filling her face until she spotted Iker; she stared stunned while Daniel frowned at the sight of the famous footballer.

Aliona felt Iker squeeze her hand in comfort, he wasn’t going to let her ex-boyfriend bully her into doing anything that she didn't want to.

“What is it you want Daniel?” Aliona said carefully, she knew what sort of power that he held and she didn't want to make things worse for herself by upsetting him.

Daniel pursed his lips as he watched his ex-girlfriend with her new lover, he hadn’t believed it when he had seen the pictures in the newspaper and he wasn’t happy to see that it was true.

“I want access to the twins… I deserve to see them, I am their padre,” Daniel said as the two children appeared in the room, Delilah frowned at how much they looked like their mother while Daniel grinned at the sight of them.

Lola hurried to her mother’s side and hid behind Aliona’s legs while Liam glared at the man that had said he was his father; he had heard his grandparents’ whispers about what a horrible man he was.

Aliona licked her lips as she watched her son move to her side, he cuddled into her legs making Daniel frown; he hadn’t expected his children to react in such away but he knew that Aliona wouldn’t be able to stop him getting what he wanted; he would take her to court if he had to.
