The first thing that Iker was aware of when he slowly started to wake was the warmth that was around him that seemed to smother him; groaning softly he heard a soft voice of what he assumed was an angel spoke.

“Relax, you are safe now,” the angel said to him as they gently dabbed his head careful of the area that Iker realised ached; the Spaniard couldn’t stop himself from drifting back off knowing that he was now safe with his angel.

The next time he woke, Iker found it easier to move, his limps not as heavy as before; he blinked softly as he opened his brown eyes and glanced around the cave where he lay next to a fire.

“I wouldn’t move too much… you’ve injured your shoulder,” said a female voice making Iker quickly sit up as he realised that his angel was real; his eyes quickly focusing on the familiar blonde, who was sitting next to a black horse.

“It’s nice to see you again Iker,” the blonde said making Iker nod as he licked his chapped lips; Aliona sighed as she pushed herself to her feet and moved toward her bag, Iker’s eyes followed her as she moved about gracefully.

“How are you feeling? It looked like you hit your head pretty hard when I found you,” Aliona said as she glanced over at him while she collected something from her bag.

Iker swallowed the lump in his throat as flashes of what had happened came to him; the blonde laughed softly as she handed him a bottle of water, which Iker took gratefully as he tried to remember how he knew her.

“Gracias, do you know when we will be able to head back to the ranch?” Iker asked, making Aliona sigh as she looked out of the cave; Iker followed her gaze until he saw the torrential downpour that lay outside.

“Not until that stops completely, it’s too dangerous to even attempt to head back in that,” Aliona explained as he sipped carefully on the water; Black Beauty whined making the two look at him, as the horse settled down on the far side of the cave.

Iker watched the stunning creature before him as Aliona moved back to her bag, she glanced at the Spaniard as he started to slip into his own thoughts.

“You’re the girl from that night,” Iker said as it suddenly fell into place where he knew her from; the blonde nodded as she brushed her hair from her eyes and watched her carefully, she was positive that things had just gotten more awkward for them now.

Iker watched Aliona and she checked him over carefully, she gently moved his arm making him hiss in pain before she frowned for a moment before she remove the checker shirt that she was wearing.

Iker swallowed making Aliona rolled her eyes as she tied the two sleeves together to make a sling for his arm.

“You have a grade one acromioclavicular sprain to your shoulder,” Aliona said as she slipped the sling over his shoulder and smiled at him as she helped him put his arm in it.

Iker watched the blonde as she continued to check him over, he was surprised how much medical knowledge she had.

“Gracias, you didn't have to do this,” Iker said feeling horrible about how he had used her to forget about Sara for that one night and how he wished that he could do it again.

Aliona flashed him a smile as she gently cupped his face and searched his eyes, making Iker stare at her frightened for a moment.

“I’m checking for a concussion, but it appears you were lucky,” she said as she let him go. Iker nodded as he watched her move away from him for a moment, the black tank top that she was wearing hugged her figure.

“So Iker Fernández?” Aliona said making the Spaniard look down at his hands, he had used his second surname to make sure that she didn't discover that he was famous and it appeared that it hadn’t worked.

“No one knows… I’m not the sort to kiss and tell,” the blonde said making Iker look at her as she offered him a small smile as a crash of thunder made the two of them jump.

Aliona looked out of the cave where they were hidden and frowned, it didn't look like the storm would blow over; luckily she had packed enough supplies for a few days just in case.

“I’m sorry for that night,” Iker said as he looked at the blonde, she looked even more beautiful now that he was sober and he was certain that she would have someone in her life; he didn't want to ruin that for her.

“Don’t be… it’s been a long time since anyone’s treated me like that,” Aliona said with a shrug making the Spaniard look at her confused, she flashed him a small smile as lightening lit up the sky outside.

“I’m single,” the blonde confirmed as Iker moved closer to her slightly, he flinched as he tried not to move his shoulder too much; Aliona looked at him as a thought crossed her mind.

“So what did you want to forget that night?” she asked curiously, she wondered why he had been so desperate to forget the world that night. Iker sat quietly for a moment as he closed his eyes, the raw hole that was in the place of his heart that Sara had ripped out ached.

“Tell me about yourself?” Iker said softly making Aliona look at him, she raised an eyebrow at him as her eyes traced his face; she could see that he didn't want to talk about what had happened to him.

“I’m an only child; I’ve lived in Madrid all my life… I am a doctor at the local hospital,” Aliona said with a shrug as she looked back out at the rain as she thought about her life; Iker watched her interestedly as she spoke.

“I’m a single mother… I have twins that I wouldn’t trade for the world,” Aliona continued making Iker nod softly; he could see a slight air of sadness around her when she spoke of her children.

Aliona sighed as she closed her eyes, she wished that Daniel would finally step up and act like a father to their children; it wasn’t fair on them to be put second place to his fiancée.

“You okay?” Iker asked softly as he wondered what had happened to cause someone so beautiful so much pain; Aliona nodded as she fought back her own tears for a moment.

“You should rest, it’s been a long day,” Aliona murmured making Iker nodded as he started to feel drained again; the blonde glanced at him as he tried to cover a yawn making her smile gently.

“Go to sleep Iker, it looks like we are here for a while,” the blonde said amused making the Spaniard look at her, Iker slowly laid back down and sighed as he tried once more to fight off sleep; he hadn’t slept well since Sara had cheated on him and he had spent the night with Aliona.

“If it helps, whoever broke your heart probably isn’t worth it,” Aliona said softly making Iker look at her confused; the blonde shook her head sadly as she pushed herself to her feet and walked away from him.

“Buenas noches Iker,” she called as Iker watched her as she settled down on her on blanket for the night; he furrowed his brow curiously before another yawn escaped his lips.

The Spaniard watched her for a moment; he had a feeling that when he woke that things would become clearer for him; Aliona was something that gave him hope that he hadn’t had before.
