You woke up on a Sunday morning to a text from your best friend, Jungkook. You two had known each other your whole lives and were extremely close with each other. So much so that whenever people saw you two together, they would say things like "You two look so cute together! and "You would totally make a cute couple!" and so on and so forth. You never really thought of him in that way. He was like a brother to you, nothing more, nothing less. You started to notice that whenever people asked Jungkook if he had feelings for you, he would hesitate and run away in fear. Anyway, when you opened the text message, it said "Hey, Y/N. I was wondering if you wanted to meet up in the park today. There's something that's been on my mind that I need to talk to you about."
You reply back "Sure thing, Kookie! How about noon? Does that work?"
After a minute, he replies back "Noon sounds perfect. See you soon." You put your phone down, have some breakfast, and start getting ready.
After an hour passes, you finally go to meet up with Jungkook. Once he sees you, he gives you a side hug and says "I'm glad you could make it, Y/N."
"No problem," you said. "It's what friends are for." You think for a minute and continue. "So, what is it that you wanted to talk about?"
You sit down at a nearby bench and Jungkook hesitates before saying "You know how I run away when people ask me if I like you?"
"Yeah?" you reply.
"Well," he continues. "I should probably tell you the reason why I've been doing that lately. The thing is...I'm gay. Not only that, I'm in love with Taehyung. I realized it back when I first met him. He brought out this side of me that I never knew was there. He makes me feel things I've never felt before. He completes me. I just hope that it doesn't change what you think of me. You're my best friend and I don't want to lose you."
This sudden confession caught you completely off guard. You were certainly not expecting something like that to come out of his mouth. After processing this information for a minute, you finally say "Jungkook, nothing can ever change what I think of you. I love you like a brother and I value our friendship. I honestly thought you were going to say that you liked me in 'that' way."
Jungkook laughs and says "No, I don't like you like that. You're like a sister to me. Thanks for understanding and accepting me. You're actually the first person I've told this to."
You put your hand on his shoulder and say "That just shows how much you trust me with this. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
"Thanks, Y/N," said Jungkook. "I was planning on telling my parents tonight over dinner. I just hope they'll support me."
"I'm sure they will, Kookie. They're caring people," you said reassuring him.
"What if they don't?" he asked, concerned.
"Then you still have me," you explained. "Who knows? Maybe they would probably come around sooner or later." Jungkook smiled his bunny boy smile and before he could say anything else, his stomach rumbled.
You noticed a food truck nearby so you looked at Jungkook and said "Race you to the food truck! The loser has to pay!" With that, you both took off for the truck. You, unfortunately, lost that race so you ended up paying. The rest of the afternoon was spent just talking about random things and having fun together until you both had to leave for your respective homes.
