It was 6pm. Lucas River was sitting on his bed alone. There wasn't much light in his room but his phone lit up his slightly spotty face. He got a Snapchat message from Stacy. His 'girlfriend'.

Stacy: Hi Lucas. I've been meaning to tell you this for a while but I don't think our relationship is working out. I loved you but you obviously don't love me. You won't do anything with me and I've decided I don't want to do anything with you. I deserve better. You're a horrible person Lucas River.

Lucas: I know I am. But you know what. I hate myself too. We could hate together?

Stacy: You have problems.

This echoed inside his head. Lucas River suffers from depression but he wasn't alone. At school he hangs around with his friends Poppy (The 'weird' one), Lycia (The 'pretty' one) and Mark (The 'hot' one). They all suffer from mental health issues and are depressed from them. In current school life they could be seen as the weird ones but for some reason in this school they were not. They were more of a private group but they were not at the bottom of the popularity scale because of Mark.

All the populars were attracted to Mark but never cared about him. Just his looks. They didn't know he suffered from bipolar. Poppy did. Lucas did. Lycia did. Mark was also in his room, alone. He messaged his true friends.

*I Hate Myself Group Chat*

Mark: I'm sick of everything. Girls using me and boys expecting me to be like them but I'm not. People are hurting me and I don't want to hurt myself anymore.

Lycia: Mark I'm always here.

Mark: I know but I'm angry. Angry at others. Angry at us. Why should I want to die when I can get rid of others that make me feel that way.

Poppy: Mark. You can't do that

Mark: I know but you can.

Poppy: I can't.

Lucas: Mark is right. If you can kill yourself then you can kill others.

Poppy: Fine but I just don't want to be hurting even more.

Lycia: You know what, the only people that will hurt you are others. Not us. You know that.

Poppy: FINE. Fine. But I won't get attached to anyone so I don't have to do anything I will regret and I won't be hurting anyone.

Mark: Don't you think they deserve it?

Lucas: Yes.

Mark: We need to make a deal of it.

Lycia: Then it is settled. If anyone of us become close to ANYONE that isn't us. The person who they are close to must go.

Lucas: Wow. You've just made it sound bad.

Lycia: And it didn't sound 'bad' earlier.

Lucas: O-okay.

Mark: We can be happy. Finally.

Lycia: Good.

Poppy: No comment.

Mark: Everyday a piece of me dies and I can't take it anymore. We have each other. That is all we need.

Poppy: I'm scared.

Mark: So am I.
