Michael looked at me with narrow eyes. "What are you doing?"
I rolled my eyes and walked past him to take a shower. Michael turned around and grabbed my arms and pulled me close so I could hear him speak.
"Don't you ever do that again. You are my maid, you work for me, you should be showing my some respect," growled Michael.
"Yeah, well I never asked for this life did I? if I knew I was gonna be trapped like a prisoner in here, then I would have never come here! So quit acting like a bitch," I huffed.
"Then why don't you? You pathetic piece of-" snarled Michael.
"Enough!" cried Luke, "Don't you dare say anything bad about her!"
"You shouldn't be the one talking here, Williams. We've been looking everywhere for you, Edward has something to tell us!" said Michael.
I see Luke's eyes widen and Michael walks away towards Edwards office. "Audrey, just go and listen to what Michael says okay?" says Luke in a quiet voice. He follows Michael without a glance in my direction.
I want to scream in frustration, why does everyone have to be so secretive around here?! I go back into my room, and head towards the shower.
Warm water provides a blanket of heat, washing all the chills from the lake. After cleaning up, I put on a camo muscle tank, and bleached denim shorts. I walk over to the box that held my mom's stuff and decide to take a good look at what's inside.
I take the letter and place it carefully to the side, then take the address for this house and throw it into the trash can. Worst decision of my life. I see a long gray dress, with a white apron an I cringe. If I have to wear that, I will die. Underneath the drab dress, I see another dress, and when I lift it up, I see it was my mom's wedding dress.
It's a long satin dress that flowed down to the floor with multiple layers of cloth cascade along the sides, sleeveless with a lace design on the top half of the dress
I put back everything into the box. Carefully, I push the box underneath my bed. Suddenly, I hear a large crash coming from Edward's office.
Edward's door burst open and Luke stormed out of the room along with four guys. "SILVA! Come here!" I hear Edward yell. The woman I asked for directions to the backyard earlier hustled into the room with a broomstick and dust pan. She came out moments later with shards of glass in the pan to be thrown out.
I can still here the hushed whispers between Edward and Michael. Michael then storms out of the room and Edward leans on the door frame and sighs.
"Hello Audrey, how do you like the house so far?" questions Edward.
"It's amazing! What was that all about though?" I ask back.
"Audrey, there are some things you don't want to know about the Hunter family when it comes to money. Michael is very protective when you get to know him, and anything that threatens that safety angers him," sighs Edward, "Very well, I should be getting back to my work, by the way, go to Silva to know when you get started."
I nod at him and watch him close his office door. I turn around and mentally groan. Great. I see Silva in the kitchen tidy up things in the kitchen.
"Excuse me, hi, I'm Audrey, you must be Silva?" I ask politely.
"Hello, darling, you must be here to ask about the schedule, but don't worry, you still have until the dinner party with the Ellen's, so you start working in three days," Silva replies
"Dinner party?"I question.
"Oh yes, the Hunter family often have dinner party to ensure their financial relations between their business partners remain stable."
