Chapter 12.
Some superheroes dislike each other. Have you ever met your rival? The only person you love in the world who you've grown up verbally attacking, aiming for verbal survival...
I've met the superhero I grew up disliking, that led to my adult version arrival.Abuela means grandma in Spanish. I call her my "Wela", the correct way isn't in my vocabulary. I guess you can say I made it vanish. They say poetry is girly, this chapter is for my lovely grandmother. Whether you like it or not, I believe my writing is very mannish.
Grandma Angela secretly showed her love for me with rude comments while growing up. I learned that sticks and stones have broken my bones, but her words eventually never hurt me. She made me mentally tougher after 16 years of comments, it made me tougher I can guarantee.
Wela will always be my frenemy, I owe everything to my first foe. She used to randomly give me money without saying a word, not even an "I love you". That was her way of secretly saying it and that I know. Growing up with her I've learned not to expect words from anyone, because of Wela I've learned to not hope for anyone's verbal audio.
Thank you for praying for me, financially supporting the child and teenage me, caring for me, and secretly loving me.
When the time comes, maybe I'll read this at your funeral. We were like Batman and Superman. Both of us always needed the last word during our silly conflicts.
