What Dreams Are Made Of

Bye for now

The alarm woke us up at an ungodly hour, my heart sunk as realisation hit that Steven was leaving today. As if he knew what I was thinking, his arms tightened around me as I snuggled in closer. 

"I don't want you to go" I whispered, totally exposing myself and my feelings that I had quickly developed for this man.

"I don't want to leave you" he replied, kissing my forehead. We both sighed, we knew we needed to get up. He showered first while I snuggled into his pillow a little longer. Then while I showered, he packed his things. He was sat on the edge of the bed when I walked back in, hair damp still but I was dressed. I walked over to him and perched on his knee, wrapping my arms around him. He rested his head on my shoulder and kissed my neck. 

"We're gonna be okay" he whispered reading my mind again.

"It's just all happened so fast" I sighed, "In a matter of weeks your have become the most important person in my life and I don't know how to feel about that"

"I know" he smiled kissing me again, "and ditto"

We cuddled for a few minutes before walking out to my car, I'd promised to take him to the airport. We drove in silence, both still sleepy and lost in thought, his hand on my knee. 

When we eventually arrived at the airport, he asked me to come in with him. I was relieved because I wanted to spend every possible moment I could with him before he left. We walked hand in hand through the airport to the departure lounge. Usual if you didn't have a ticket you couldn't get this far but I guessed his status meant I could. The rest of the cast started arriving too, all eyeing me as they approached. I felt sick, this was a big deal, meeting his friends. 

"Guys this is Beth" he introduced. I smiled but it was shaky, he squeezed my hand reassuring me. They all said hi and seemed nice enough.

"Your the girl from the hotel right?" Jeffrey asked,

"Yeah that's me" I laughed

"You guys have had some coverage already" he sighed "that can't have been easy"

"I don't think I helped things" Steven sighed, this time I squeezed his hand and he smiled "We're good now though. As he spoke a camera flashed a few feet away, the paparazzi had somehow got in the departure lounge too. We headed for a VIP lounge and all ate breakfast together. I was starving and the men seemed amused by the amount of food I got through.

"I wish I could eat that much food and still have a figure like yours" Lauren Cohan sighed as she pushed her scrambled egg around the plate. I blushed both embarrassed and flattered.

"That's my girl" Steven laughed, making me relax, we chatted for a while but soon it was time to head for the terminal.

The cast started boarding but Steven hung back,

"Well I guess this is it" I stated trying to smile but failing,

"This is just bye for now" he smiled tucking a stray hair behind my ear, I nodded and bit my lip as a lump formed in my throat "I'll see you soon okay?" he said stroking my cheek,

"I'll miss you" I sighed,

"Me too baby" he replied, my heart skipped a beat. Camera's were going off left, right and centre, snapping pictures of us and the rest of the cast. Steven grabbed hold of me, catching me off guard and kissed me hard, it was one of those kisses that made my toes tingle, I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back. We broke apart as he was called to board the plane.

"What was that for?" I asked knowing there would be dozens of photos of our kiss.

"I want everyone to know you're mine" he smiled, gave me on last soft kiss before disappearing onto the plane. I stood there for a moment, stunned, grinning away to myself. I was literally living the dream. Suddenly I was surrounded by journalists asking me tones of questions and flashes going off in my face. 

"Hey come on leave the poor girl alone" you heard a steward say as she forced her way though the crowd and pulled me free. "Come on love lets get you out of here" I smiled at her grateful for the rescue. 

"thanks" I said breathlessly as she pulled me through a door into a small corridor that I presumed was staff only.

"No problem" she smiled "you should be able to say bye to your fella without that circus"

"Somehow I don't think I'm ever going to escape them" I laughed,

"Suppose they are part of the package when you're dating a celebrity" she laughed "I'm Leah by the way"

"Bethany" I smiled "yeah there's a lot of catches with dating a celebrity"

"Follow me, there's a back entrance to the car park" he told me, I followed and sure enough we came out at the opposite end of the car park.

"Thanks again Leah" I said as I stepped out into the morning air,

"No worries love" she smiled "Call ahead next time you're coming and I'll escort you" I smiled and  waved as she shut the door. Making my way across the car park to my little Audi, lips still tingling from Steven's kiss. no doubt that photo would be everywhere by the end of the day. 

I got to work just over an hour later, back to reality. I sat pining at my desk for the majority of the day. Luckily I didn't have any courses booked because there was no way I would have been able to concentrate.

Once I got home, I comfort ate, pizza and sweets before taking my brew to bed for an early night. As I climbed in bed, Steven text to say he had arrived at his hotel. I couldn't help but smile at the sight of his name on my phone. I replied immediately telling him I had just got in bed and it felt empty without him. He sent sad faces back saying sweet dreams baby. This was going to be harder than I thought.
