let me set the scene, the sun has set over the south pole, the stars gleamed with joy as another avatar is born into the world. The moon wept frozen tears in the form of snow flakes as she had to say goodbye to my grandfather, Avatar Aang.

Seventeen years later

I stood beside my grandmother as Korra performed her fire bending exam.

"She's strong" Grangran beamed, I knew just how much Korra meant to her. Not only was it her duty as a water bending master to train her but she also cares deeply for her as she sees so much of Aang in her.

"She lacks restraint" a member of the white lotise sneered I rolled my eyes. They never let Korra off the hook, she had to do everything they said the way they said it. But then again Avatar Aang chose them to help the new avatar train..

"Oh, your right" Grangran sighed "who am I to give my opinion, I'm only a water bending master and the widow of the previous Avatar. I'm the matriarch of the only airbenders in existence, and I saved the world when I was fourteen years old. I'll try to hold my touge next time" I spluttered a laugh but stiffled it with a cough when I received a glare from the lotise members. I didn't really listen to what the rest of the conversation held untill Tenzin was mentioned. I hadn't seen my uncle in so long, my eyes met Korra's as the lotise members tried to push away the idea of her starting her air bending training.

"I don't see why not" the words left my lips and when they left I couldn't pull them back.

"Pardon?" One of the white lotise members asked.

"I-" stop it Zea, your stronger than this "I just think that Korra is more than ready, she has mastered water, earth and Fire. The sooner she begins training with my uncle the better, the world needs it's avatar." Korra beamed at me.

"Fine. We'll contact Tenzin right away" Korra was over joyed, I can say with no regrets she is more enerjetic than me! as my grandmother and I left the training arena the sky began to dim and clouds overtook the navy blue sky, the only thing giving light were the silver specs in the sky that were meant to be stars.

"let's hurry home, Zea" Grangran usherd me forword "we don't want to get caught in the storm"

"if we did we could bend our way home" this caused her to giggle

"you sound just like your mother" she beamed. once we passed through the front door we were met with a comfurting warmth and the smell of seal jerky cooking.

"we're home mum!" I and I saw my mother come into vew. my mother was just a few inches taller than Grangran, her gray hair was soft and boucy tied back in a half up half down do. she wore the traditional clothing of the water tribe.

"just in time" she sighed "another storm is due any second" I closed the door and pulled off my coat, hanging it neatly on the metal pegs in the wall.

"so how was Korra's exam?" my mother asked, Grangran's face broke into a even wider smile than the one that rested on her face, i sat down at the dinner table and pulled out my note book. I would draw and write whatever came to mind, sometimes these things showed relivence at a later date. hence my reasoning for writing down the dates next to each note or drawing. as i scribbled down a snowflake that flown well away from the snowing area my own thoughts were interupted by my mothers gleeful claps.

"I knew she would pass! I cannot believe that they are letting Tenzin teach her so soon" Grangran smiled,

"Kya, dear. your father had mastered airbending at the age of tweleve. Korra is Eighteen now she's more than ready"

"is she though?" Mum shook her head "teaching airbending to Korra is going to be a big deal to Tenzin, the irony cannot be ignored either, think about it the last Avatars only air bending son teaches the new avatar airbending"

"it wasn't hard for me to teach Korra water bending"

"that's a lie Mum and we both know it" my mother crossed the room to the kitchen and braught back with her plates of seal jerky.

"no, its not Kya. it may have been difficult to work with her some days due to her likeness to Aang however i found no issue teaching her. each and every avatar strives and struggles with their own individual elements. Korra has had no problems so far."

"Granpa Aang struggled with earth right?" i interjected

"thats right" my mother said as she placed th eplates at the dinner table.

"so maybe Korra will struggle with air I mean it liturally sits above water and she's not the most delicate person in the world" Grangran gave a short chuckle.

"we will see when Tenzin arives"

~o~

After the meal i'd taken it apon my self to get an early night. Korra would be exstatic in the morning. and although she was one year older than me we were close. she was my grandfathers new life. spirits to any one else that would sound crazy. I rolled over and pulled my blackets to my chin, slowly drifting into a deep sleep.
