Unrequited || N.C (#2) ONGOING

It was pitch black on the plane, Lily was still fast asleep but I couldn't sleep, I couldn't stop thinking about the night; I could still feel my side splitting with pain, a piercing scream.

"Caffrey." Kellers voice brought me back to reality. "You're a dead man walking."

I know Keller wouldn't stop at anything to get what he wanted, nothing. Then I thought of something else that he said something which I knew to be entirely true

"I know you caffrey, your love life is your biggest flaw as it entombs you." He spoke threateningly. Cocking the gun, and pointing it at me. "You just can't seem to separate your head from your heart can you?" He mocked and then without warning-

"Hey" Kate whispered.

Shit.

I nearly jumped out of my skin and she laughed, I missed her laugh.

I cracked a smile as well "you scared me, jeez Kate." I whispered so not to wake Lily and the other passengers on the plane.

"Sorry" she apologised sweetly "you seemed worried, are you okay?" Her eyebrows were fixed in a confused expression, her brown almost black hair was now pulled into a messy bun, strands of hair framing her face.

"Yeah I'm fine, just had a bad dream that's all" I whispered again, but lily stirred next to me and grabbed a hold of my hand. I smiled down sweetly at her, she is so adorable when she's asleep. I smiled at Kate and her expression changed somehow to one of sadness. "Kate, you okay?" I asked. Her eyes looked straight at mine and she smiled, nodding.

"Hey, do you want to talk but over text, just so not to wake Lily?" She asked, holding her phone out. I looked back down at Lily, I didn't want to wake her and I didn't see the harm in continuing a conversation.

"Sure" I said and Kate beamed as she handed me her phone, it was so obscure to be giving her my number when we were wayy passed that phase. I typed my number in and sure enough a message appeared on my phone, I smiled and gave my phone back to her.

"I wasn't asleep for the whole time was I?" I laughed as everyone was walking out of the plane, it was the next morning and Neal had just woke me up an hour before, being at the end of the plane we had to wait for others to get off but it also gave us a chance to clear up and get our hand luggage sorted.

"I swear I need a foghorn to wake you up" Neal laughed, his smile smirked and his eyes twinkling in the light from the window. Leaning down to kiss me, and smiling.

"What was that for?" I asked, beaming back at him.

"Sometimes I can't resist.-"

Soon we finished getting off the plane and finished retrieving our bags ... finally! I looked at my phone and saw I had a text from Ian.

Hey! I'm here to pick you up and I can't wait to see you!*

I smiled at the message and showed Neal as he smiled back at me, it would be my first time seeing my family in over a year, and god did I miss them. We grabbed our bags and rushed to the exit, but I stopped before we walked through.

"What's wrong?" Neal asked, putting his arm around me.

"It just doesn't feel real, like I've been dreaming of this moment for so long, I just can't wait to see my family again" I said, with a grin on my face but I just knew I'd be crying any second and Neal pulled me in for a hug.

"I know how long you've been waiting for this, okay? Just enjoy it. Nothing will go wrong I promise." He said looking at me seriously, and then breaking out into a grin and kissing me on the forehead. "I love you weirdo"

"I love you too wanker." I said smiling at our private joke, brushed myself off and then walked out into the exit. I looked around and it didn't take me long to spot my family, my mum and dad were holding an embarrassingly large banner which read 'welcome home baby! (And Neal)' which I found hilarious and Ian was stood in the middle holding our old videotape camera. I couldn't stop my smile or my feet as I ran towards them and Ian ran towards me and I tackled him in a bear hug and my mum and dad both dropped the banner and engulfed me with one big embrace.

Here, is where I belong.

There's no excuse for how late this update was and I'm surprised if anyone is still reading this😂, anyway I do appreciate every single one of you and your comments got me off my lazy ass and I finally wrote a chapter!!
