I woke up early the next morning, around 8, Neal was still asleep beside me and holding me tightly, his arm wrapped around my waist as I leaned against him, last night was amazing and the first night we've been intimate since he's been in hospital. He was something else, I don't know why I woke up so early, but I've been sleeping so well recently, I guess being on holiday has made me so relaxed. I can't wait to have Christmas here, have something special with my family before going off to work once again. I turned to look at Caffrey and immediately grinned, I was so glad that he told me, and even though he was fast asleep he still made my heart flutter.

"Mm" he moaned in his sleep and pulled me closer into him, as I snuggled into his chest, making my tummy flip he was so god damn adorable and I couldn't help but swoon whenever I was near him. He was my Neal. Mine.

Deciding I would have to get up sooner rather than later, I kissed Neal's cheek then climbed out of bed, watch as Neal moaned and hugged the pillow, his messy brown hair sprawled all over, and his back muscles defiantly prominent. Wow. I was so lucky. I walked to the closet and decided to pick out some clothes for the day, seeing as it was still cold I picked out some trusty black jeans, white button up shirt and my big fluffy cardigan over the top.

Making my way downstairs, I heard Ian talking to someone in the living room, "yeah, I'll talk to you later babe."

Babe? This is interesting... I smiled as I walked into the living room, looking as I saw Ian sat on the couch with his phone to his ear, and I walked into the room with my arms crossed over my chest. Watching how long it took for Ian to realise I was there.

"Shit."

"Good morning Ian, best brother in my life." I said happily as he almost growled at me and hung up on the phone, looking at me with pure detest. "Who's babe?" I teased, running over to the couch to sit next to him.

"None on your business that's who" he said, flicking my forehead with his fingers.

"Ow, you bastard" I said, rubbing where he just flicked. Then smiling cunningly once again, "was it Caleb?" I asked and Ian blushed. I knew it, they were meant to be, and I knew something would happen. "FBI comes into good use" I said tapping the side of my head in a joking way.

"Why couldn't you have just stayed in bed like your stunning boyfriend?" He said sighing, "you really picked a stunner there Lil" he almost swooned making me laugh.

"Hey don't go off topic!" I retaliated "how long have you been seeing Caleb then?" I questioned winking as Ian rolled his eyes.

"We've just been 'seeing each other' we're not officially dating yet" he said using air quotations at the appropriate moments.

"It'll happen" I said confidently, as Ian smirked. "Trust me, FBI here" I winked. Ian rolled his eyes for the 100th time and walked off.

"Want a cup of tea?" He yelled, and I shouted a 'please' in reply. I was alone for about 2 minutes before my phone started to ring.

"Scarlet?" I heard a familiar voice say, but knowing it was way too early for him.

"Peter? Are you okay? It's only 3am back in New York" I said with clear worry in my tone as Ian came back and set the cups of teas down sitting next to me sensing my worried tone and holding my free hand.

"It's not good news, and I'm sorry but you'll have to cut your holiday short and come back in a few days. We've found a new investigation and we need you and Caffrey" I felt my heart sink, I was meant to be with my family for Christmas, I'd waited and planned for this holiday for months even put in overtime to pay for everything.

"But I needed Christmas with my family, that's what we arranged." I retaliated, as Ian looked at me and held my hand tighter.

"We realise that, and that's why we've made it available for your family to come and stay over the holidays over in New York, we've sent you the flights over on your e-mail, and we've sorted a flat for them to stay at while you finish the case I know it's not ideal, but we really need you." Peter told me confidently. "I wouldn't ring you if it wasn't important." I nodded and then remembered it was a phone call and said my reply of 'okay' and goodbyes as I hung up the phone.

I looked at Ian and sighed "guess everyone is coming back to New York with us then"

"What do you mean they need us?" Caffrey questioned, pulling me tighter as we were in my room. After I got the phone call I ran up and he was already thankfully awake.

"God knows, but it doesn't sound good" I said truthfully, "I'm sorry, I know this isn't what you wanted. Especially with your art business" I said brushing back his hair as he smiled softly.

"It's okay, don't worry about me, have you told your family the news?" He asked politely, and I nodded.

"everyone is getting their stuff ready now, the tickets are for tonight so it doesn't give us much time- I just wish it wasn't like this."

"Hey it's okay" Neal comforted, kissing my cheek. "I've got you, and your family are coming back with us that's good. We can show them the sights" he smiled trying to be optimistic about the situation like always.

"Yeah I guess it'll be fun, we can get a Christmas tree, decorate the house, have a party at June's give her something to look forward to." I smiled and Neal nodded. "I think Jake is coming now as well"

"There you go, that's it." He said smiling and I smiled back "there's that beautiful smile" and I couldn't stop the fluttering in my stomach or the blush rising to my cheeks. He always knew how to make me feel better.
