Me, Pony, and Johnny headed to the monkey bars and climbed on top of them. We all sat up there and started smoking a cancer stick until I noticed headlights coming our way. I squinted my eyes in the direction it was coming from and I noticed that it was the all too familiar blue mustang.
"Shit we gotta split!" I whispered/yelled at them before hopping off the bars
"What's wrong?" Pony asked as he jumped off the bars
"Socs." Johnny mumbled before walking over to me
We started to leave the park until the mustang pulled up right in front of us. I reached in my pocket gripping my switchblade handle as they emerged from the car. Bob saw me and smirked as he nodded his head towards me while looking back at his friends.
"What the hell do you guys want?" I spat glaring at them as Pony and Johnny stood in front of me
"We just want the grease girl, you grease shits can go." Bob says and I felt my eyes widen
"We're not going anywhere and you're not getting Y/n." Johnny says in a protective voice
I was a bit surprised by his courage. He's always been a little quieter since he got jumped a few months back. But now he was standing up to Bob and it really took me back a little.
"Guess we'll just have to take her." Randy says as they all lunged at us
I pulled my knife out and slashed the first arm that came my way. I backed up and started to run but I got grabbed from behind. I stabbed the person in their hand and they instantly let me go.
I turned around and sucker punched the soc in his nose. Then I looked around for Johnny and Pony. I saw Bob drowning Ponyboy in the fountain and I took off towards them.
"Get off him!" I yelled
Before I could get to him I saw Johnny stab Bob and then he dropped to the ground. I stopped in place and saw the life leave Bobs eyes and I noticed all the Socs looking in our direction. They all scattered to the blue mustang and drove off leaving us at the crime scene.
"N/N? You alright?" Johnny asks with a hint of nervousness in his voice
I shook out of my state of shock and took in what all just happened. Johnny killed Bob but he did it to protect Ponyboy. My mind was in a frenzy I didn't know how to think straight.
I saw Ponyboy leaning against the fountain coughing and that helped me get my shit together. I ran over to him and helped him up. Johnny came over to us and we all stared at Bob for a moment.
"I can't believe I just killed someone." Johnny mumbled to himself which made us look over at him
"He would've killed Pony." I say reassuringly
The truth is Bob didn't deserve to die despite how big of an asshole he was. But I wasn't gonna let Johnny blame himself for this. After all it was self defense, they came at us first.
"Yeah it's not your fault Johnny. I actually appreciate you doing that for me." Pony says with a soft smile
Johnny didn't say anything but he dropped the knife on the ground and leaned against the fountain. I ripped a piece of my shirt off and picked up the knife with it. I tossed it in the fountain and then looked towards the guys.
"We need to get out of here. Now." I say dropping the piece of clothing and stomping it down into the dirt
"Where would we go?" Johnny asked looking at me
"Dally we'll help us but he's the only one we can tell. He'll know what to do." I say as I start walking off in the direction of our home
The guys followed me until we ended up at me and Dal's. I went inside and lead them past the people partying an headed upstairs. When I busted through the door I noticed Dally and some broad close to getting it on.
"Could you hold up with your whore for a second?" I asked with a hint of attitude
Dallas pushed the girl off of him and sat up seeing all three of us at the door. The girl stood up and stared at me for a moment. I gave her that look that told her "I'm not in the mood, bye bitch".
"Could you give us a minute?" Dallas asks turning to the girl and she snorted
"Go ahead don't bother looking for me downstairs. I'm leaving." She says grabbing her clothes and tossing them on
"That'll be for the best." I say smiling before going inside and sitting in the chair in the corner of the room
The girl didn't say anything else but left and the guys came in afterwards closing the door. Dally looked toward me but I looked away and decided to let them explain. Pony and Johnny sat at the edge of the bed an started to explain what happened.
"Damn I didn't think you had it in you Johnny." Dally says which makes me roll my eyes
"I just wanted to save Pony." He mumbled and I stood up
"Look do you know where we should go? That's why we came over here to be honest." I say making Dally look towards me
"You guys should get out of town for a bit, I know where you guys can go. You'll have to catch the train." He says
"Good well then let's go." I say grabbing a few things of mine and packing them in a backpack
After I packed some things we followed Dally. The plan was to take a train and be far from town but still a bit close to it. We were gonna hide out until the whole thing blew over.
