As my eyes opened, I looked to see Sam was laying on the floor groaning.
I gasped and dropped the gun on the wood floor as I ran over and put my hand on his cheek.
"Tell me what's the matter Sam," I said, crouching down and starting to scan his body.
"My..arm," He grunted, taking deep breaths. I saw his hand was gripping his bicep and blood was slowly starting to dribble down. Not only is his arm bleeding, but so is his head and lip which I assume must be from fighting Ashton.
I felt more tears forming in my eyes, but I tried to ignore them as I started to help him sit up.
I can't believe I shot him. What if I was off by an inch or two, he could have been killed. A shiver runs down my spine as I push the thoughts away.
Speaking of shooting Sam, I looked up and around for any sign of Ashton, but he seems to be gone. With no trace around either.
My head is dizzy as Sam stood up and I wrapped my arm around his side to help steady him as he held onto his arm. A lot of his weight was leaning into me and I never realized how large his diagram was until now that I was supporting most of it.
I huffed as I walked over to the open door leading outside.
I watched as someone ran in and I stopped in my tracks, but as soon as they appeared in the moonlight, it felt like a huge block of weights was lifted of my shoulders, literally.
Dean looked at us and ran over onto the other side of Sam. I felt a lot lighter as Dean began to hold Sam up.
"Thank God you found us," I said as we waddled over to the door.
"What happened to Sam?" Dean asked, concern flooding his voice. We stepped outside into the pouring rain, heading over to the impala.
"I-I think I might have shot him in the arm. Ashton didn't help either.." I choked out, hating to hear myself say these horrid things out loud. I never intended to hurt Sam and I could never imagine having a thought about it.
"There's a first aid kit in the impala. You work on Sam while I drive to the apartment. I'm going to give you 5 minutes to get your shit then we're gone, okay?"
"Okay," I said, hoping Dean would mistaken the tears starting to fall down my face as rain.
Finally after walking through puddles and what felt like an eternity later, Dean helped me put Sam in the backseat. I hopped in beside him as Dean got behind the wheel and drove out of the parking lot onto the highway.
"First aid kit.." I said while I scrummaged through the backseat of the impala. As I dug under the seats I chose to ignore the mysterious stains and protection scattered on the ground as I finally pulled out a rusty first aid kit.
I looked over at Sam to see his head bobbing down.
"Hey, hey Sam. Sammy. I'm going to need you to stay awake for me, okay?" I said, crawling over to him and putting my hand on his face to steady him.
"Hmm," he mumbled, his head weight still weighing down my hand.
"Sam, please look at me," I begged, staring at his eyelids which showed no sign of movement. I gripped his face tighter. I could feel my palms sweating. "Sammy?"
"I'm sorry, Blair," I suddenly heard him mumble. He slowly looked up at me and a wave of relief washed over me.
"Nothing's your fault, Sam," I said while slightly rubbing his cheek with my thumb.
"I didn't mean to get you involved in this..this wasn't meant to happen."
"I know, but all I'm glad is that you're alive. I'm the one who should be apologizing after all. I shot you in the arm."
"I think you only grazed it," Sam said, but winced as I saw him shift his hand that was covering his arm.
"Take it easy, you're going to be fine now. I'm going to start bandaging you up, okay?"
Sam nodded and I smiled and gripped his chin the slightest before I began to take out the bandages and unroll them.
"Blair," Sam said and I looked back up at him. His eyes had almost like a sparkle in them. He slowly started to lean in and before I knew it his lips were pressing against mine.
I felt my body turning to jelly and I forgot how to think straight while I kissed him back. He placed his hand on my own cheek and if was even possible pulled me in closer. Although it was only for a few seconds, the kiss had so much passion once I pulled away I looked down and felt my cheeks flooding with heat.
"Thank you for doing this," Sam said as he tucked a piece of loose, wet hair behind my ear. I took a shaky breath and glanced up at him. His face showed tiredness, but his eyes were gleaming.
"You don't have to thank me, Sam."
"But I do, honestly. Thank you for letting Dean and I stay with you this long and for being so kind and-"
"Pause with the sappy shit. Don't mean to interrupt, but we're at the dorms."
I glanced outside of the window to look across the campus at the steps to the entrance. The rain was so heavy, but I could see that there was no lights on in any of the windows. It was empty.
I looked back at Sam.
"I'll be back soon."
"I'll come with you-"
"Sam, you're hurt. I appreciate your gesture, I really do, but I can get the job done faster if one of us goes."
I started to open the door and stepped out into the pouring rain. I was barely a foot away from the impala when I heard Sam call out my name.
"Blair wait-"
His head was sticking out of the rolled down window.
"Be quick, and promise me you will be careful."
I looked into his concerned filled eyes and gave him a small, reassuring smile.
"I promise I will be."
I turned away from the vehicle and started to make a beeline to the front doors.
