Chapter 3

I looked up at Natsu.

I nodded, trying not to seem nervous.

"Now answer me truthfully now." said Natsu. I've almost never heard him be so serious, and it made it even more nerve wracking. I looked up at him, and he was looking at me right in my eyes.. Like he was already waiting for me to answer.

"Do you want to be my gi-"

"Wait! Natsu! I'm not going to answer that right now!" I yelled. He just smiled and pulled me in for a hug. I put my arms around him.

"Can I at least have answer before dinner?" Natsu whispered in my ear. Pulling away from the hug I saw his smiling face. "I want to go on a date with you!"

I turned away, trying to hide my burning face. I clenched my fist with the gem in my left hand and held it across my chest. Pulling me into a hug from behind he said,

"You don't have to answer me now, but could you give me a answer by tonight?"

"Sure." With that he pulled away.

"Come on! It's almost time to go! We should get there before Princess Hiswi to show our thanks for coming all the way out here!" said Natsu, and he opened the door with Happy trailing behind him, and turned down the hallway, and like that, they disappeared out of my sight.

"Natsu! Happy! Wait! Hold on! I need to get my shoes on!" I yelled out the door. They were walking down the staircase of my apartment building. I got so caught up in what just happened I just stood there for a few seconds.

"You can put them on there." Natsu shouted from the stairs.

"Do you want me to fly you there?" Happy said in a teasing voice.

I grabbed my shoes and ran out the door, trying to get my heels on and walk at the same time.

I wasn't able to put one of my shoes on all the way, and as I ran down the stairs. My heel got stuck in the mesh part of the stair and I tripped and fell.

I screamed as I fell, but after a few seconds of bracing myself to hit the ground, I slowly opened my eyes. It felt like I was floating.

"How did you fall all the way down here?" asked Natsu as he held me in his arms.

I turned my head, trying not to look at Natsu. Happy was behind me laughing. I blushed from screaming like that, and that I needed Natsu to catch me. Though, I was happy that he hadn't gone too far to be able to run up and get me, otherwise that would have been a pretty nasty fall.

"Here you go. I'll carry you down the rest of the stairs so you don't fall again." Natsu said with a smile and started to walk down the stairs. "Hey Happy!! Go and get her shoe!" Natsu yelled.

I heard a faint "Aye sir." come from Happy, then the poof that came after he revealed his wings.

I looked up at Natsu as he carried me down the stairs, and I thought, "Maybe him being my boyfriend wouldn't be so bad."
