Chapter 10

 Uraravity ran over to me, noticing me crying.

She flung her arms around my shoulders, shaking her head.

I felt Natsu take a step back through the old floor boards.

"I'm fine!" I said, keeping my arms at my sides. "Really. It's nothing to worry about." I said quietly.

She pulled back from the me and looked into my red eyes.

Her face was all scrunched up.

"No you aren't!" she yelled.

"I am. Don't worry."

She looked up and then stood up, walking backward.

I turned my head a little to see Natsu standing there, crying.

I felt my face getting flushed.

Natsu slowly walked forward.

My face was burning, and I was still crying.

Everything hurt.

My head.

My face.

My arms.

Everything.

Natsu grabbed hold of my wheelchair, and turned me around slowly, moving one hand up to wipe away tears that were about to fall off his face.

He pushed away the curtains of the room and walked out, leaving Uravaity alone in the room.

"Hey, Natsu I wa-" started the shopkeeper.

I felt Natsu move his head, but I closed my eyes, embarrassed about how I was acting, but I couldn't hide these emotions anymore.

I know I'll come to terms with it soon, but for now, I needed to cry.

I just needed to sleep for now.

As Natsu slowly pushed me on the bridge, a cold breeze rushed past us.

I shivered.

Natsu's scarf fell onto my lap.

I wiped away the now drying tears and looked back at Natsu.

He smiled.

"Thank you." I said quietly.

It was silent for the next minuet.

We got to where my place was.

I then remembered the stairs.

I had caught my shoe in the wires of the staircase at the top.

When was that? A week ago?

How would I get up them now?

I can't walk because of these stupid legs and my stupid mind.

I hung my head, closing my eyes, trying not to cry again.

"Here. I'll carry you to your room." said Natsu quietly.

Without warning, he picked me up in his arms.

He was warm.

I liked that.

My face got a little flushed, but I didn't mind that.

He couldn't see because the way he was picking me up.

"Thank you." I said quietly, looking down at my useless feet.

He walked all the way up and I got my keys out to unlock the door.

He pushed it open with his back, and walked in.

Natsu gently set me on my bed and walked out, closing the door behind him so the cold winds wouldn't get in.

I sat there for a few minutes, just concentrating on the door.

"I'm back!" I heard Natsu say, and he opened the door up.

I gave a small smile, and he grinned back.

Natsu walked back over to me after he set the wheelchair down and locked the door.

"Do you mind if I sit?" he asked, and he pointed beside me on the bed.

I shook my head.

I couldn't get out words.

Natsu was acting shy.

He wasn't normal right now.

I don't know what to do.

I looked over at Natsu, and his eyes were dark, but, I could see the light in them.

"Hey Lucy." he started. He looked over at my fridge.

I nodded my head slowly. "Yeah?" I barely got out.

"Do you mind if I stay here tonight?"

I felt my face immediately get hot.

"W-w-why would you ask that?" I said, looking away from Natsu, covering my face with my hand, the other one propping em up on the bed.

"Well, I think I wouldn't be able to sleep if I went back to my house with Happy because I would be worrying about you too much. I don't like to see you sad like this." he said, and I turned over to look at him. He was giving me his bright smile that I used to never see. I blushed even more somehow and looked away again, covering my face with my hands. It seems he's gotten happier in this small amount of time since the day we went to see Princess Hisiw for the first time at the cafe.

"I-I don't think it would be a problem, b-but I don't know where your gonna sleep." I said, and looked over at him as I didn't get a response.

He was already asleep on the bed.

I sighed, and pulled myself to the head of the bed and layed down on the covers.

I quickly fell asleep to the sound of Natsu snoring.
