Chapter 13

It was if it was in slow motion.

Drops of blood slowly few into the air behind Natsu.

His smiling face slowly turned into him screaming.

All I could see was pain.

I tried to scream, but all that came out was a faint cry that was barely audible.

I watched, horrified, as Natsu slowly fell to the ground.

I grit my teeth, feeling tears run down the sides of my cheeks.

I put my head onto Aries shoulder, crying.

"Natsu!" yelled Loki. I heard footsteps that went down a few stairs.

I didn't think about that though. I couldn't think about it. I was numb. My hands were shaking. I was bawling my eyes out. Everything around me seems to go bad. From the room in the castle burning, to this. Natsu laying on the stairs. Dying.

Loki picked up Natsu.

"Lucy." I heard faintly. "Lucy! Are you okay?"

I slowly realized that Loki was standing beside me.

He huffed. "Thank goodness you're okay." he said. I tried to smile, but I felt a tear go down my face. Then another. And another. There were more and more, and I couldn't stop it.

"Lucy! What is the matter? Was it something I said?" yelled Loki, still holding Natsu limply in his arms.

The tears quickly stained my face. I was smiling, but crying. I need to he happy, but I can't in this situation right now.

"Can't you see it you buffoon?" chuckled Rouge. I looked up at him. "She's crying because I hurt her precious Natsu!" Rouge laughed. Loki set down Natsu gently on the step below me and quickly turned around to see Rouge a few steps down.

"You will pay for making Lucy cry!" yelled Loki, and jumped down to Rouge, throwing punches.

He swiftly dogged all of the punches, making Loki extremely tired.

"Do you really think that you can hit me with how slow you're moving?" said Rouge with a laugh. He grinned. Loki found a spot that was unprotected by Rouge's defense and quickly jumped at it.

I yelled, seeing how Rouge was playing his dirty trick, yet Loki didn't answer, nor slow down.

Rouge moved one way a little right as Loki got to his body, but not enough to dodge his attack.

"Loki! Get out of there!" I yelled, though, my cries did no good, as Rouge had already hit his back, making him fly down onto the stairs.

"Lucy! You have to recall Loki and get out another Zodiac! Loki is no good for now!" said Aries. I looked up at her, and she nodded. Today, she was acting brave. Was it because I've shown my weak side? What was it?

"Lucy! Hurry!" she now shrieked. I looked up to see Rouge starting to walk to us.

He changed back to his normal form and stopped a few steps away.

I heard him chuckle as I quickly went through my keys. I had to find it.

"Silly Lucy." he said.

I looked up at him for a second to see something bright.

I didn't pay attention to it, as my goal is to find the key.

I quickly jumbled through my keys, not being able to find it.

There was a sudden flash of light in front of us, followed by the screams of the phantom.

I tried to look up, but it was too bright to see.

I slowly realized what had happened.

I yelled from the depths of my heart, "Natsu!"

Everything was in slow motion again.

I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.

The dreaded moments that I see right in front of me, are now even longer than I had imagined them to be.

Natsu's face appeared in the smoky blast for a second, but before I could say anything to him, the stairs had collapsed.

I fell to the ground, still in Aries hands.

The soft plush of her magic surrounded us.

It was quiet, but I knew what had happened.

I wanted to run, but I couldn't. I wanted to cry, but nothing came out. I wanted to scream, but all that was left of me was a soul that had been torn up into a million pieces, trying to find a way to go back to normal. I wanted the old days with Natsu sleeping in my bed. The piles of food disappearing in a second, all in Natsu's mouth. The times me and Natsu looked at each other and just laughed, because we thought nothing could go wrong in the end and we think that Fairy Tales all end happy.

But know now. I now know that this isn't a Fairy Tale, but this is our nightmare that we now have to live with.
