Chapter One: Exactly a Year Later

(Hanabi p.o.v)

 It's a year after all the things with Mugi happened. I have no idea what's going on with him, Onii-chan, Akane, Ecchan, or even Moka. I moved to America, getting accepted into an elite university, and I'm good with English, so I thought, why not?

  I was in my dorm with my roomie, Emily. She was heading to a friends' place, so I had the place to myself. From the door a knock sounded, making me jump in surprise.

"I'll get it!" I call.

I walk to the door, opening it slowly. Behind it, there was a tall, blonde haired, brown-eyed handsome Mugi.

"Is this Hanabi Yasuraka's room?" he askes.

"Mu-Mugi!?" I stutter. "What are you doing here...i-in America?"

"Oh, it's you, Hana. I need to talk to you, please."

I move aside, telling him with my body language that he was welcome to step in. He sits down, looking as uncomfortable as possible on the plain couch. He looks over at Emily, who's giving me a wide-eyed "who the hell is this?" look.

"Well, I'm out of here." And she's off.

I sit down in front of Mugi on the coffee table. "Okay, what did you want to talk about?"

He looks even more anxious after I ask the question. "W-well,  I--uh," he stutters over his words. "I wanted to be with you again, like, as a real couple."

I'm shocked into silence; hanging my head and letting my hair fall in front if my face

(Mugi's p.o.v.)

She hasn't said a word. her hair was in front of her flipping face and I couldn't see the look she had.

I reach over and put her hair behind her ear, and she blushes a bright red.

I smile. "I see you haven't changed, Hanabi. I did the most innocent thing possible and you're sitting over there as red as a tomato."

"Well, you can try to get me to fall in love with you," she says. "I mean, Emily's out tonight, so you can stay here." 

I hug her, inhaling her scent.

"Thank you, Hana-chan. I'll try my hardest."
