Chapter 17: June 10, 2012 3:05AM Bonnie’s POV

I became conscious of what was going on around me, and that’s when I heard him. I heard Daniel’s voice. I couldn’t really make out what he was saying, it all just sounded like a bunch of mumbling. It hurt to try and sit up, so I just kept the position I previously had on the bed. It took all of the energy I had to figure out where Daniel’s voice was coming from, only now he wasn’t speaking anymore. All I heard were sobs. I managed to sit up slightly, just enough to see Daniel sitting with both knees on the ground, just crying into his hands. I knew I had to say something.

“D-Daniel?” I managed to stutter out. “What are-?” I began to ask, and then I noticed I wasn’t at home like I had previously thought. I had this huge pain in my side that gradually eased up a little bit?

“Where am I?” I asked, lying back down like I was before. I didn’t have enough energy just yet. And I had the worst headache ever. There were so many questions, just not enough answers. Daniel jumped up from the ground, but he was still crying and I still didn’t know why.

““Where am I?” I asked. “Oh my gosh, my head is pounding… what happened?”

I hadn’t paid much attention to his response, mostly because I didn’t think I wanted to hear it just yet. Something awful must have happened for me to be in this much pain. I felt terrible just watching Daniel cry, but something was off. He was actually smiling.

“-the Doctor said you could go home in a couple of days.” That was the only thing I had actually heard Daniel say. How long had I been here?

Daniel pulled my hair back behind my ears. I loved when he did that. It had a calming effect on me for some strange reason. “How are you feeling?” he asked calmly.

“Like I just got hit by a truck.” Daniel cringed a little bit when I said that. I tried to think back to the last thing I remembered but I was quickly interrupted by Daniel asking me more questions. Honestly, I just wanted to be as close to him as possible.

“Are you tired? Hungry? Thirsty? Can I get you anything?” he asked. It sort of sounded like he was a little panicked.

“Lay down with me.” I said as I moved to one side of the bed I was laying in, and I pulled back the blanket so he could cuddle up with me. I was so tired. All I wanted to do was sleep, but there was only one thing I really wanted to know before I fell asleep.

“Daniel?” I said. Wow, you could really tell how tired I was in my voice.

““Yeah babe?”

“What were you doing earlier?”

“What do you mean?”

“Well I heard you talking and crying, and then as soon as I called your name…” I was too tired to even speak anymore.

“You’ll find out soon enough…” was the last thing I heard before I fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning, but Daniel was right next to me anymore. I felt this weird surge of energy just coursing through me. I was about to jump out of bed when a couple of doctors came into the room. I started to panic a little bit. I’ve always hated doctors ever since my dad passed away. I didn’t hate doctors; it was more of a fear really. One doctor came over and took my temperature and another one ran some other standard tests while the third doctor just took notes. I don’t know why it took three doctors to do this but hey, it’s not my hospital.
