The guy fainted. It was freaking night time. What was I supposed to do now? The honk of a car interrupted my thoughts. I looked to the left. And on the road was a freaking Aston Martin One-77. Freaks..
I was snapped out of my thoughts by another honk. Okay, this was getting annoying. I stood up from the guy as another guy came out of the car. He was wearing a hoodie and sunglasses. That too at night.
"I'm here to take him," the guy pointed at 'the guy'. Hell, he was even wearing gloves. Did he have any infectious disease? Maybe , my inner voice answered.
"How can I be sure that you are not one of those with whom he fought?" I said. There was something creepy about this guy.
"Ahh, okay I'll show you his driver's licence. This is his car," saying this he rummaged through a file before handing me a driver's licence. Okay so this guy wasn't lying.
"Okay, take him. And give him some lime juice when he wakes up," I told him.
"Yes, ma'am," the guy said. Then he picked up 'the guy' put him in the back seat of the car and left.
I started walking towards home.
"There you are. What held you for so long?" mom asked.
"Nothing mom. I just felt like taking a walk," I lied. I don't know why but I didn't feel like telling her.
"Okay, well we already ate. Your dinner's on the table," she said.
"Thanks mom," I said and kissed her cheek.
Then I went upstairs and took a bath. I ate dinner and went to sleep after that with thoughts of that guy haunting me.
Next day, I woke up at the sound of the alarm. Oh right, I also got a job at Espresso Express last week. It was a cafe 15 mins walk away from our house. Today would be my first day there.
I quickly got dressed and came down the stairs. I found my morning coffee on the kitchen counter. I quickly drank it and ran outside. Being late on the first day would be awkward so I wanted to go as early as possible.
The cafe was nice. It had cream color walls and a classy decorated interior.
"Good morning. Are you Miss Coburn?" a lady in her thirties asked me. She had red hair and green eyes and wore a ash colored shirt and a black pencil skirt . She must be the manager. All employees had to wear aprons over casual clothes.
"Yes, I am," I answered. She gave me a overall look that made me feel really self-conscious. I was a brunette with blue eyes, 5'5 ft with a slim figure and I was wearing a plain white shirt and blue jeans.
"Okay, you will find an apron in the kitchen. Ask for Miss Collins. She will help you to get to know the basics," she said and smiled politely. I smiled back.
"Okay, thank you," I said and went to the kitchen.
A pretty looking lady with blonde hair came to me.
"You must be the new employee," she said.
"Umm.. Yes I am," I said.
"I'm Adriana Collins. Just call me Anna," she said.
"I'm Kiera Coburn. You can call me Kiera," I said, then added," The lady outside told me to find you. She said you would show me around."
"Well, Kiera, I'm a little busy now but Ryan is free. He can help you," she said.
"Who's the pretty lady?" a guy said as he walked towards us. He was really attractive with brown hair and brown eyes and a square jaw.
I blushed.
"Kiera is the new employee," Anna told him.
"Hey, I'm Ryan O'Shea," he introduced himself.
"I'm Kiera Coburn. Just call me Kiera," I told him.
"And call me Ryan," he said and smiled.
Then he showed me around. I waited a table for the first time in my life. It was a new experience for me. It was fun too. Ryan was really cheerful and funny. He made alot of lame jokes but I laughed anyway.
Soon it became evening and our shift ended. We all took off our aprons and left. I started walking towards home when Ryan caught up with me.
"Hey, so where do you live?" He asked.
"Three streets away," I replied.
"Let me walk you home," he offered.
"No, it's okay," I replied. The guy was so polite. I could see myself being with a guy like that someday. But not now. I still had a lot of dreams I needed to complete before deciding to fulfill someone else's.
He still walked me home. He walked me to the door and left. He even kissed my hand like in the movies.
But I don't know why thoughts of 'the guy' haunted me that night too. How was he? Was he still getting into fights? Was he drunk again? My inner voice wondered till I fell asleep.
So, that was a long chapter huh? And guess what, my story is #69 out of 646 in ex . I'm happy at that. Guys if you like the chapter then please vote and comment. <3 <3
