Stefan's P.O.V:
I dealed with my uncle and went back to Kiera's house at 10. She was still asleep. I sat beside her bed holding her hand again. She looked so innocent and sweet. Her hair was a mess. I moved her hair away from her face with my hand. The movement woke her. She slowly opened her eyes.
"Good morning, princess," I told her and kissed her hand.
"Good morning, Stefan," she said. I loved it when she said my name. The way it rolled off her tongue so naturally. To think that something could have happened to her...no.. Nothing can happen to her.. I won't be able to take it.. I love her.. Wait what? I love her?
"Why are you staring at me?" she asked and that's when I realized I was quiet for too long.
"Let's get some breakfast in you," I told her since she hadn't eaten the previous night too. We came down the stairs after she freshened up.
"Kiera, sweetheart, good morning," her mom told her. She smiled.
"So do you remember anything?" her mom asked then and Kiera froze. I froze with her. We were supposed to let her move on not remind her like this. If she forgot it, it was better.
Suddenly Kiera started screaming and sunk to the ground with her head in her hands.
"Kiera.. Kiera.. Calm down," I told her holding her. It was after some time that she stopped screaming. Her mom was staring in shock. I gestured at her to keep quiet. Kiera's dad wasn't home.
"I want to stay alone," Kiera finally said and looked at her mom. Her eyes were bloodshot and wet from tears.
"Okay, baby," her mom said trying to be understanding.
"I wanna move back to my house," she said.
"But, Kiera...," her mom was at a loss for words.
"Leave me alone," Kiera finally muttered and went upstairs. She started packing her bag.
"Are you sure?" I asked her and when she nodded I started helping her.
She walked out of the house with her bags without even looking at her mother one more time. Her mother was crying silently. I wondered what was going on in her head.
"Drive," she ordered and I drove her to her house. The whole ride was silent. After reaching I helped her get the bags inside.
"Umm- I think you should go," she said. Ouch.
"Are you sure?" I asked. I didn't feel like leaving her alone after almost losing her. Yes, I almost lost her.
~~Flashback~~
"Uncle, why did he hurt my girl? Did you order this?" I asked him in a calm voice.
"No, I didn't. It was a group decision. He and a few others wanted to get rid of her to get you back. They were supposed to kill her," he said and my heart skipped a beat hearing what could have happened.
"I love her," I stated as uncle stared at me.
"So, you and all the guys should stay away from her. Or else, well.. you know me," I threatened and walked out.
~~~Flashback ends~~~
"Yeah, I'm sure. I need to be alone for some time Stefan," she said in a desperate tone and I don't know why but it hurt.
She was about to close the door in my face when she stopped midway and looked at me. Her eyes were brimming with tears. I looked at her helplessly, not knowing what to do.
"Stefan, if I ask you something, will you lie to me?" She asked.
"Never, princess," I replied sincerely.
"Did he do it?" she asked and her voice broke on the last word.
"No honey, I got there when you fainted. Nothing happened after that. I swear," I told her.
"Okay. Thank you," she said and smiled.
And then she closed the door in my face.
