Harry POV

The hour passed by slowly, and I had already ordered an iced tea and scone. Each time the bell that went off when the door opened rung I looked up, wishing it was them. But no such luck. My phone had just reached 20% battery when the bell rung once more and when I popped my head up I was thankfully met with all five of them walking into the Starbucks. They all turned their heads looking around, except for Louis, who knew exactly where I was. He gathered everyone and brought them all over to where I was seated.

“Took you long enough.” I said with a smile on my face to show I was kidding. “Hey we were just exercising our inner girls!” defended Niall, holding up a bag from a store I had never heard of. I rolled my eyes, “Come on, lets go!” I said, rising from my chair and grabbing the rest of my scone for the walk to the Empire State.

On our way out we were stopped only once, but only because Paul was getting a coffee.

Paul gets to do what Paul wants to do.

We began the walk to the Empire State in the same formation as the last time, but I refused to give in again.

I ran up to them and squeezed in between Liam and Taylor, with Louis giving me an odd look as I entered. “So what did you guys buy on your little shopping adventure?” I asked.

Liam replied first, “Just a couple new T-shirts and shorts.”

Then Louis, “I got some joggers.”

And finally Taylor, “Um….new shirts, three dresses, and a bikini.” She said, looking through her bags. “Why a bikini…” I asked.

Its not that Im complaining.

Not even kind of.

Im fine with bikinis.

Yay bikinis.

“Well, were gonna be in LA, and I don’t want to miss out on the beach….” She said, as if it was obvious.

Suddenly I couldn’t wait for the beach.

After a while we finally arrived at the Empire State Building and had just begun to get dark.

Yes. This is good. Everything is always more romantic in the dark.

And judging by her songs, shes a pretty romantic girl.

We made our way up to the top and were surprised that it was pretty empty. There were 3 other couples a couple feet away, but besides that there was almost no one. Even better, no one seemed to recognize us.

Not that I don’t love the fans.

Its just that I’m in the middle of trying to flirt with a girl.

We all first started to circle the building itself. It was really beautiful. All the lights looked like twinkling stars, lighting up the night sky. The buildings all looked a hell of a lot smaller from up above. I was the king of the world. I felt like I was in Titanic, except that the ship was a building and my ocean was a city. (NEAR, FAR, WHEREVER YOU AREEEEE) Slowly but surely everyone found their way into a corner where they just looked out over the city, and I had to circle around once more before finding Taylor, standing in a corner with her hair flying in the wind and her hands around the bars of the fence. Walking closer, I found they weren’t just wrapped around, they were holding on for dear life.

“You ok there?” I asked, coming up next to her, and putting my hand on her shoulder.

“Ya, I’m fine.” She said, without taking her eyes off the skyline. “Bullshit.” I exclaimed, she clearly was not fine. After a minute she finally said, “Im just a little, tiny bit scared of heights. Usually doesn’t effect me, but this time…I don’t know…”

I thought about it for a second, then slowly took her hands, and unraveled them from the black fence. At first she resisted, but finally just let me. Her eyes were still on the skyline, not blinking.

I held onto one of her hands, and slowly let my other travel up to her chin, and turned it so her face was looking up at me. Her eyes pierced mine. But all I found in those blue eyes was fear.

“Hey, come on, youre safe. Calm down.” I said, as I wrapped her in my arms. I could feel her shivering so I took my jacket off and wrapped it around her.

Her shivering stopped, but I could still feel her heart racing through my thin black shirt. “Come on, lets go inside.” I held onto her hand and went back through the doors off the balcony and into the room inside. “You ok now?” I asked looking down at her. She looked up at me, there was only a small height difference but she still had to tilt her head upwards only the slightest bit. “Ya, thanks Harry, I was really freaking out up there. Its been so long since I’ve been somewhere like this so Ive forgotten about my fear. But, thanks. Thanks a lot.” She said, I saw that look that I’d seen earlier that day in Central Park, but just like last time, it vanished within seconds.

“I- I should go…” she said, pointing to where Niall stood eagerly waving to Taylor. “Oh ya…ya sure…ok…” I babbled on after she left, then looked down on my feet.

Well that was…

Kinda disappointing.

She seemed like…completely uninterested.

Nah, its probably my girl brain telling me that.

Why the hell is she being so damn difficult?

We walked back to the hotel and everyone went back to their separate rooms after a long day.

I put on some pajama pants and took off my shirt, and settled down in my bed.

“Harry?” I heard Louis say from the other bed. “Ya Lou?” I responded.

“Just so you know, I’ve talked to Liam, and he said hes not interested in Taylor THAT way…theyre just friends. But, do you have a thing for her?”

“Ya. Ya I do.”
