Its strange isn't it, the way we watch the clouds move across the sky and assume its just us moving and leaving them behind. Until you stand still. And suddenly the clouds are moving by themselves and you realise its the wind that's pushing them away. We automatically jump to the conclusion that they're revolving round us but she didn't. She'd watch the clouds move east and never think for a second that it was just because she was heading west. In her mind nothing ever revolved around her, she was not the centre of anything and never had been and that's why she became the centre of my everything. It was my friend's birthday party where I first met her. She was doing body shots off some random guy in the kitchen and when she lifted the glass to her lips it was as if the entire party began to move in slow motion. She took the drink in one gulp before swinging the glass back onto the table triumphantly and the biggest smile appeared on her face. And she began to laugh and even though the music was way too loud I could still faintly hear it and I knew I wanted to be the reason why she laughed like that every day.
