Cameron called at eleven p.m that Tuesday night. I was sitting in my bedroom when my mobile rang, and I turned my music up before answering.

"Hello." I said, trying not to sound too enthusiastic.

"Hey." He replied. "How was dress shopping?"

"Terrible. I think I tried on over twenty dresses. But I found one in the end, and it's gorgeous." I smiled this time, glancing over to the white dress hanging in my wardrobe.

"What's it like?"

"Well, if I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise, would it?" I retorted, grinning.

"So it's a surprise?"

"Correct." I nodded. "What are you wearing?"

"Remember how I'm going with Olivia?" He asked, and my brows furrowed a little, jealousy threathening to burst out of me. He continued without an answer, "Well she's wearing pink - obviously - meaning that I have to wear a pink tie."

I snorted, "That's hilarious."

"I think I might just go with a basic black and white tux, to be honest with you." He answered. "But then again that's a little too formal, so I'll probably wear a dress shirt and pants."

"No shoes?"

"Of course shoes, why do I have to state what shoes I'm wearing?"

"This is what girls talk about." I stated.

"Whatever." He said, and I could sense him smiling. "Could you do me a favour?"

"Uh, sure?"

"Open your window."

I frowned, "Why?"

"Just do it."

I sighed, holding my phone to my ear as I walked over to my window and opened it, peering around my front garden.

"It's open." I said.

The phone line went dead.

"Princess pyjamas. Cute." Someone commented, and I looked behind my car to see Cameron standing there, a pizza box in his hand and a smile on his face. "Fancy a drive?"

"Are you kidding me?" I asked. "What if my parents see you?"

"They're having their own fun. Come on, I want to show you something." He motioned to his truck, before looking back up at me.

I grinned, "Okay, two seconds."

I threw on a pair of Converse and grabbed my hoodie and phone, before closing my window, turning my music off and sneaking out of the front door (turns out my parents were having their own "fun". Gross.)

"Hello beautiful." Cameron greeted, kissing me on the cheek and opening the car door for me. I thanked him and took the pizza box off of him, putting my seat-belt on and tucking into the food.

"Remind me why we're doing this." I told him.

He grabbed a slice of pizza as he drove off, "Because I wanted to show you something. And I missed you."

"I saw you like nine hours ago." I laughed.

"Nine hours too long."

There was a long pause. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure." He replied.

"Why do we get along so easily?" I asked.

"I guess it's all in the whole mate thing. Being mates means that you're soulmates, right? Therefore if you're soulmates with someone you have to be able to get along with them. Likewise everything else. And the more time we spend together the more we become inseparable. The only reason I'm missing you more than you're missing me is because I've come to the term that it's okay to be mated to you, but you haven't. You're scared about what your parents are going to do, and you're scared about what my parents are going to do. But I can promise you that we're in this together, and I will always choose you before them. Even if I have only known you for a couple of days."
