"You should've been more cautious!" My mum exclaimed as she threw a vase at the door, making it break.
Cameron had taken me home straight after our run in with his mother, and here we are, getting told off by my parents. Noting that it's two in the morning, and I'm super tired.
"Everything is sorted out, mum, you don't need to worry." I comforted, rubbing my tired eyes.
"Don't worry? Don't worry?" She repeated. "Of course I need to worry! They could be here and we'd have no idea-"
"But they aren't." I argued, shutting her up. "We have guards surrounding the pack house, and our house. Now, can I please go to bed? We have a busy day tomorrow - I need to be mentally prepared."
There was a long pause, before she said, "Yes, you can go to bed. But I'm waking you up at eight am, sharp!"
"Whatever." I mumbled, grabbing Cameron's hand and dragging him upstairs.
"Everything is going to be okay." I comforted myself as I changed my clothes.
"Hey." Cameron said softly, taking my hand and looking into my eyes. "You don't need to be worried. We've got this handled, okay?"
"You're right." I nodded. "I just need some sleep."
I walked over to my bed, climbing into it eagerly as Cameron did the same thing, wrapping his arms around me and making me feel completely safe.
"Oh, and Sam?"
"Yeah?" I breathed.
I felt Cameron's breath on my neck as he whispered, "Happy birthday."

I woke up on Friday morning with an agonizing headache, sweaty palms, and the need for a cold glass of water. Cameron was softly snoring in my ear, his arms trapping me in his hold as I internally groaned. What a lovely way to start my day.
"Cameron, let go of me." I whispered to him, trying to get up.
He snored even louder, his hands tightening even more around my waist and chest that sent shivers down my spine. I checked the time, to see that I had fifteen minutes before my mum would come and wake us up.
"Come on, I need a drink." I quietly growled, my throat begging for hydration.
"Five more minutes." He mumbled, snuggling closer to me.
"I'd love to, but apparently arguing with your mates mother makes you quite thirsty. So, please, let me go." I explained, and his arms loosened around me. I smiled, climbing out of bed and making my way downstairs.
Mum and dad were already awake - as per usual - and were quietly chatting about something as my mum made breakfast, dad's arms wrapped around her waist and his head tucked into her neck.
Gross.
"Morning." I chirped, grabbing a glass out of the cupboard and filling it with water.
They both turned around promptly, smiles on their faces when they recognised that it was me. I forced a smile, expecting the worst.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Mum screamed, deafening my ears. Dad's only reaction was a bright smile, and a nod.
"Thank yo-"
