"Isn't it just beautiful?" Mum asked, clasping her hands together and dreamily sighing.
I nodded, not caring at all. It was one thirty in the afternoon, and we'd just arrived at the pack house to see that the room was already set up.
The room was scattered with white and silver balloons - some were hanging down from the ceiling, some were attached to the walls, and the majority of them were on the floor, ready to be kicked by drunk teenagers. Mum had stuck with the white and silver theme, laying out white blankets over tables for the food and drink. She'd used plastic-looking-glass bowls for the food, and made sure to put up a big sign in front of the alcohol saying 'DON'T DRINK UNLESS LEGAL'. Of course they're going to follow that, mum.
The dance floor was huge. And when I say huge, I mean that it took up almost half of the room. Multiple silver circular tables - with beautiful designer chairs, may I say - surrounded the dance floor, and blue and white stage lights from the ceiling covered the floor, magnifying the room. Speakers hung from the walls, giving me a gut feeling that the music was going to be very loud. I looked down to my Mayday Parade shirt that I'd changed into before, and hoped that at least one of their songs were going to play tonight. The DJ stand stood at the very bottom of the room, and I could see that he was already setting up. A CD was in his hand that read 'Sam's favourite songs' in unfamiliar handwriting. It wasn't Jace's, or any of my parents', or Olivia's. So who's could it be?
"Do you like it?" Mum asked, breaking me out of my thoughts.
"It's amazing, mum, it really is. It's going to be a great night. Thank you." I said, hugging her.
"It's no problem; I know I'm awesome." She said, flipping her hair once I'd pulled away.
"Shut up." I shoved her a little, before my phone starting ringing. I smiled when I saw the Caller ID. "Yo, what's up?"
"You know, just chillin' and doin' stuff." Cameron said, faking an American accent.
"Impressive." I laughed.
"Are you busy?" He asked.
"Why? Do you miss me that much?" I cooed.
"Maybe I do, maybe I don't."
"Hurry it up, we're meeting your dad for lunch." Mum said, interrupting our conversation before walking out of the room.
"Apparently I'm going out for lunch with my parents." I said, turning around. "But I can meet you in a hour or so?"
"Yeah, that'd be great. Turns out spending time with Jace and Olivia is actually quite fun." He lowered his voice to a hush, humourously saying. "I think they like me now."
I laughed. "Brilliant."
"I know." There was a pause. "So I'll see you in a hour?"
"I'll try and come earlier, depending on how chatty my parents are today."
"Okay, see you then."
"Bye bye." I chirped, hanging up the phone.
Putting my phone in the back pocket of my jeans, I found my mum. She was on the phone to someone, and I'm sure I heard the words 'Should I wear my blue thong?'. I shivered. Ew.
"You ready?" I interrupted, smiling with my hands in my back pockets.
Mum turned around, her cheeks flushed a little. She nodded, before saying goodbye to my dad - in a disgustingly seductive way - and hanging up.
