Miley
"So this is really it?" I ask. "Every single promise is over now, is that what you're saying?"
"You know it's the truth. We can't even stand here and pretend that it'll work out." He crossed his arms over his chest. I breathed in for a moment and closed my eyes. He can't be serious.
"You make it seem like we can't even speak to each other anymore! We can skype every night, call each other daily. We can make this work." I felt the tears sting my eyes. I moved closer to him and put my hand on his chest. I could feel him stiffen under my touch.
"I'm just trying to make it easier for the both of us.."
"I hate you."
I mean it this time. I tap the my foot on the marble floor. This is it. I'm through putting up with this egotistical asshole. I look away from him, trying my hardest not to even glance at him. I can't let him see me cry. He can't know how much pain I'm in- how I'm dying for him to cradle me in his arms, telling me everything will be okay.
"No you don't. You love me."
"Yes, I do love you. But do you love me?" I stare at him hard.
Justin ran his fingers through his tousled hair- a thing he does when he's deep in thought. I can see his jaw clench as he looks down. He doesn't love me.
"Listen, you know how I feel about you."
"No, tell me! Tell me how you feel Justin!" My voice shakes.
We've been together through everything. He can't just leave me like this. I thought we would've had more time. All we needed was time..
"We'll be far away from each other, Miley. College is a big step. We need time to figure out what we want in life-"
I cut him off. He can't be serious right now.
"We were supposed to be together! We don't need time to figure things out we both know what we want!"
"What if I don't want the same things as you! Have you ever thought of that?!" He slammed his fist against the locker, the loud bang filling up the quiet hallway.
I open my mouth to respond but nothing comes out. I stare at him for a second, silently saying my last goodbye. I then turn around, walking away from him, walking away from my everything.
"Miley wait! I didn't mean that!"
I ignore him. If he wants me out of his life then fine, I'll forget every memory I had with Justin Drew Bieber.
*Four years later*
Miley
"Would you be needing anything else, Ms.Cyrus?"
I snapped out of my daze, twisting my head up towards my assistant standing before me.
"No thank you Gloria. I'm alright." I give her a light smile and tuck a piece of my newly dyed hair behind my ear. I thought I needed something different, so I decided to give platinum blonde a try. It suits me well enough, atleast my fiancé thinks so.
"Call me if you need anything." She gently nods, then disappears from my office.
Once she closed the behind her I sighed, leaning back against my leather chair.
Lately things have been stressful. I've been overflowed with work and I can barely keep track of what I have to do next. Don't get me wrong I love my job. But I miss having time to myself.
I look at the papers scattered across my desk. Most of them are from my clients, checking to find out when their next photo shoot is. I work for Vogue magazine. I'm one of the top editors for the magazine, I'm in charge of what goes into the magazine, and who should model for the brand.
I was lucky enough to have an internship here throughout college, making it easier for me to get the job.
Just as I was about to start organizing the clustered area in front of me my phone buzzed. I reached for my phone, which was next to my nearly empty coffee mug.
Nick <33
'Dinner date tonight? See you @ 8 ;) '
Nick is my fiancé. We met when I first moved to New York. We've been together for about three years now. He's currently working on becoming a lawyer.
I sent him back a quick okay, then work on rearranging the mess I've made over the past weeks.
Just as I finished stacking a pile of papers, my desk looked at least presentable. I checked the time on the clock nearby me, remembering that I have to attend a meeting at 5. Since it was only 4:30, I figured I would have some time to get something to drink. There was a Starbucks just a few blocks away. I stood up and grabbed my belongings.
I left my office and told Gloria that I'd be back soon.
As I left the building I wrapped my thin cardigan over my small frame, cursing myself for not remembering to bring my jacket. I then began to walk, crossing my arms over my chest. I just hoped that Starbucks wasn't as pack as it usually is.
I crossed the street and walked into the store. The place wasn't so packed. I may just have a place to sit this time. I stood on line, waiting to tell the cashier what I wanted.
Once it was my time to order I pursed my lips and looked at the menu even though I knew exactly what I wanted.
"Can I get a venti white chocolate mocha?" I flashed the cashier a light smile.
He nodded and started to make my drink. I dug into my bag for my wallet. I pulled out a 20 dollar bill just as my drink was handed to me. I gave the money to the cashier and took my change, leaving a dollar in the empty tip jar. I took a seat by the window, taking a small sip of my drink. I decided to look around, seeing nothing but the usual. A teenage couple snuggled up against each other, giggling at something.
I couldn't help but smile, they're so young and in love. I could see the joy in their eyes.
I smiled, feeling happy for them. I turned back around to take another sip, not wanting to spend my time stalking the couple. I drummed my fingertips on the table and looked out of the window. Just as I turned around I noticed a somewhat familiar figure standing before me.
"Miley?"
I looked the stranger in the eyes then noticed his features. Bright hazel eyes, luscious pink lips, and a broad smile that could only belong to one person.
Justin.
