*Miley's POV*

"Justin..."

"You don't have to say anything, I don't expect you to. I just needed to tell you how I felt before it was too late." Justin glanced down at my ring, which made me draw my hand back and place them on my lap.

The words that Justin said repeated constantly in my mind. How can he still love me after all this time? How can he still love me even when he's with Alex?

The main question was, why is it that I still love him too?

"Justin...You know that you've been my best friend for nearly forever. I told you things that I wouldn't tell anyone else, not even Nick. You'll always have a special place in my heart."

Justin sighed. He ran his hand over the back of his neck, pulling at the ends of his hair. "But do you still love me?"

I do. God, I love him.

"Yes." I whispered. Justin's eyes seemed to light up, as if he wasn't expecting me to reply. "But if only things were different..."

Justin choked out an almost fake laugh, looking down at his hands. "Yeah...If only."

There was an awkward silence for a second, which was interrupted by a group of young teens walking past us, chattering and laughing with each other excitedly.

I spotted a couple amongst the group. They walked close together while the boy had his arm around the girls shoulder. They didn't even seem to pay attention to what their friends were saying, their eyes locked on each other's.

Justin caught me looking at them. "That used to be us, you know."

I looked down at my hands, my thumb brushing against my ring. "Maybe it could be is again...you never know."

Why does he make me feel this way? It's like Justin knows just what to say to pull me right back in.

I was perfectly fine before we reconnected. I had a life. I had a set future, and now all of that is slowly falling apart.

All because of him.

I guess it's because I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with him instead of Nick, maybe Justin is my true soulmate.

Just then an elderly man came out of the shop. He walked to us, folding his arms over his chest. "I'm terribly sorry, but I'm closing now. Please feel free to come again tomorrow. We open early." He smiled, causing the winkles on his face to lift up.

Me and Justin both stood up. He grabbed his camera, walking back out to the street. I flashed the man a light smile then followed behind him.

Justin remained silent as he continued on with his walk. He would stop every once and a while to snap a quick picture, but he pretended as if I wasn't even there with him.

"Do things really have to be awkward between us now? You can't just tell me all these things and act as if nothing is happening between us." I stopped walking. He turned around, arching his eyebrow.

"What exactly is happening between us, Miley?" He clenched his jaw.

I opened my mouth but nothing came out. I didn't know what to say, it's like I have this feeling in my heart towards him that doesn't even need to be explained. He should know how much I love him. He should know.

As if he were thinking the same thing, Justin moved closer to me. He pulled his camera strap over his head so that his hands were free.

"Justin..." I looked up at him. The bright lights from the billboards all around were flashing on his face, letting me see everything that he was feeling.
