chapter 3: memory 2
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I didn't put all of the boys in their little group because I didn't feel like writing about that many people and if that bothers you I am sorry! I will have every boy in this fanfic at one point, but in this chapter it's just a few of them!!

Cameron's POV
Last night I thought a lot about Mary and the memory jar. I came up with an even better plan, and that was to take her to the places that each memory took place at when we get to that memory. I mean I would try to do that; it might not work with some of the memories.
Right now we were sitting at the top of the hill again, this time she wanted to pull a memory out. There weren't any questions this time. Mary wanted to get straight to the point. I watched as her small hand went into the jar and her fingers grasped the small green paper, and she pulled it out, reading, "Memory number two."
Memory #2: Cameron's Bonfire
Everyone was talking and laughing around the bonfire together. It wasn't a huge party, just Mary and Cameron's group of friends this time. That consisted of Aaron, Diana, Matt, Raine, Jack Gilisnky, Jack Johnson, Shawn, Nash, and of course Mary and Cameron. Mary loved her group of friends but sometimes she felt a little out of place and just... so much more different than them.
Tonight she was just feeling odd and she wasn't having as much of a good time as the others.
"Hey Cam, will you get me a beer?" Jack G calls to Cameron when he sees that he is heading into the house to get some drinks. Cameron nods at him and dissapears into the house.
"We'll be right back," Matt says, referring to him and Raine. She giggles and they stand up together, running toward the house hand in hand and Mary just scrunches her nose up in disgust. She doesn't even want to think about what they're going to do in one of Cam's rooms.
"I hope they use condoms." Diana mumbles when they're gone, and Aaron chuckels, leaning over to kiss his girlfriend's cheek. Mary laughs quietly mostly to herself.
"You guys are so cute." Mary comments to her friends. They both smile at her in return.
"Yeah, I think we're gonna go." Aaron says after a while. Diana just nods, yawning afterwards.
"You guys are really leaving?" Gilinsky asks them and they just say yes, standing from their spot on one of the logs.
"We'll see you guys later!" Diana calls while they walk away. Now it was just Jack Gilinsky, Shawn, and Mary. Everyone else went in the house for some reason and Mary has been staring at the fire the whole time being quiet.
"Jack! You have to come see this!" Nash is suddenly calling from all the way over to Cameron's backdoor. He waves him over and Gilinsky gets up, heading towards the house.
'Oh great, now it's just me and Shawn,' Mary thinks to herself.
"I wonder why they didn't say I had to come see that." Shawn frowns and Mary can't help but feel sympathy for the boy. He was kind of like Mary in their group but he still fit in with them more than she did. Shawn moves to sit next to Mary on the log, and they both stare at the fire without saying anything.
The sound of the fire cracking was so peaceful to Mary, and she would sit out here all night if she could.
"Are you having fun?" Shawn asks after a while.
"I guess. I like it more like this, when it's quiet and I can enjoy the peacefulness the fire gives me." she replies.
"Can I ask you something?"
