Cameron's POV
Mary spent the night at my house last night. I don't know how it happened or what made either of us decide on it; she just ended up sleeping at my house. We fell asleep in the loft on the third floor of my house. Mary was on the floor with her clothes on from yesterday, a blanket that I put on her wrapped around her as she cuddled up to a life-sized panda bear. Her hair was still in a bun on the top of her head and from where I was, I could see her tattoo on the back of her neck.
I yawned and stretched my arms above my head then rubbed my eyes. Mary looked so adorable that I couldn't help but smile fondly at her sleeping figure. Her lips were parted slightly and her breaths were even. When a piece of her long hair brushed over her face she scrunched up her nose in the cutest way possible. I checked the time before getting up, seeing that it was almost ten in the morning. I realized I was in just my underwear and shrugged, walking down the stairs of the loft. I walked down the stairs again and made my way into the kitchen.
I made myself a bowl of Frosted Flakes and sat at the table right in front of the two doors to the patio. I looked outside, squinting because the sun was so bright. Sighing for no reason, I started to eat my cereal.
Sometimes I don't realize what's actually happening. I seem to forget that Mary doesn't remember little things we used to do together and I forget that I am an idiot. I forget that I broke a very important promise and I'm the reason for all of this. It's entirely my fault, so I want to be the one to fix it.
I heard footsteps coming into the kitchen and I smiled because I thought it was Mary, but my smile faded when I looked to see it was my mom. "Goodmorning, Mom."
"Morning Cam, did Mary end up staying the night?" she asks while starting to make some coffee. I think she knows Mary is going to want some too. Well, if she remembers how much she loves coffee? Did she forget that too?
"Yeah." I respond with my mouth full and she scowls, shaking her head.
"I can't believe I have lived with such a pig for this long," she snorts, "I can't wait until you go to college." she adds with a joking tone but I assume a part of her is serious also.
"Says the woman who just snorted!" I retort and she rolls her eyes, laughing. I love my mom, and I love my dad, but the two of them together I'm not so fond of.
Just then, Mary stumbles into the kitchen tiredly. She took her hair out of the bun and now it was messily wavy and curly at the same time. She was rubbing at her eyes as she looked around.
"Well, goodmorning Mary! Sleep well?" my mom asks with a smile, and I just noticed she was starting to make pancakes. I just ate cereal but that doesn't matter so I'll just eat pancakes too.
"Yeah, sorry for staying over last night without telling you." she says with a blush as she sits across from me at the table.
"It's fine dear, you don't need to ask when you're here."
My mother starts conversating with both Mary and I while we sit at the table and she makes the pancakes. I wonder if my dad will come downstairs to eat with us. The chances are mostly not likely. I wasn't going to spend this wonderful moment thinking about that, though, so I just kept laughing and talking with two of my favorite girls in the world. The other special girls would be my sister and my grandma. I know, I'm such a ladies man.
