~Lexi's P.O.V~
Today was the day that I get the official quileaute symbol, tattoo on my arm. I wasn't bothered by it, as it wasn't my first but it still stung quite a bit. I had been bored out of my mind the past few days. When wolves first phase, they need a week to cool down and relax so we don't turn into a bloodthirsty killing machine every time we become pissed off.
I'm not taking this as well as you would think. Sam and I had been training nonstop for the past few days. I think it had to do with the fact that he didn't want to see anyone else dead, after we learned that it was a vampire that had killed my mother. We buried her by a small beach that no one ever visited because it was much too far a hike. For a human, anyway.
I had been trying to put it out of my mind by keeping myself busy, the only problem was, was that I couldn't shut my mind off. We were heading back to the house now, in our wolf forms because we had just finished training for the day, resulting in Sam covered in rapidly healing scratches and a smug smile on my face.
Not long after we had gotten home, I had just turned on the tv when the doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" I yelled up to Sam who was upstairs, changing.
I wrenched open our rusty old door and it opened to reveal Leah Clearwater and who I assumed to be, her cousin, Emily. "Hey Leah," I smiled softly at her. She returned my grin."Hey Lex, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Everyone loved her." She said sympathetically. Leah wasn't much for feelings and emotions but I had been her friend for so long that my loss was hers and vice versa.
The smile slowly melted off my face as the thoughts I had been building up a wall to prevent, suddenly came rushing through. The memory of her lifeless body on the floor. The memory of Sam and I burying her body underneath the soft sand where she would finally be at peace.
I shook my head, snapping myself out of the thoughts before they could overwhelm me. "Come in, please." I said gesturing to the couch. I heard loud taps behind me as Sam came rushing down the stairs to meet Leah. He caught her in a romantic kiss which lasted for about five seconds before breaking apart. He stared at her with a loving gaze before shifting his eyes to Emily who had her hand extended. He put his hand in hers and stared straight in her eyes, looking at her with a mixture of love and wonder.

I felt a strange feeling engulf me as I stared into Emily's beautiful sparkling brown eyes. Even her name sounded beautiful. I was so lost in her eyes that I didn't notice Leah start to tear up as if she knew what happened. I didn't notice Lexis horrified face as her mind worked out what had happened. I didn't notice anything except for her. Emily. My one true love. My imprint.
I came too when I saw fingers snapping in front of my face. Lexi. I looked at her, her face was a mixture of anger, sadness, and maybe even a little bit of wistfulness. Behind me, I heard Leah burst into tears. The sad thing was, was that I didn't care, I couldn't care. All the feelings that I might have previously had for Leah, had vanished, bubbles into thin air. And she knew it too.
Lexi rested a hand on her shoulder. "Leah-" She started in a sad voice. "Don't." She snarled at Lexi, shrugging her hand off and storming out of the house. Emily looked between Lexi and I, wide-eyed but I could tell that she felt the same for me as I did for her.

I couldn't believe him. I thought angrily. How could he?! I thought that imprinted was extremely rare as it was so hard to find your opposing force. Your other half. Your true love. Your imprint.
I started to pull Sam toward the kitchen to talk to him alone. "Uh Emily, w-we have uh b-books if you uh get uh bored or anything and uh...-" Emily cut him off with a giggle. "Thank you but I'll be fine for a few moments." She gave him an enticing smile as I continued to pull him to the kitchen while he stared after her, hypnotized.
When we got to the kitchen, I closed the door and rounded on him with a furious glare while he had a dreamy look on his face. "Do you have any idea how much you hurt her?!" I screeched at him. "Her" being Leah. He just stared at me with a sad expression on his face. "Lex, you don't understand what it's like. I never understood how much pain I've always been in until now. But now I have finally found it. My heart." He said, sighing dreamily. I rolled my eyes. Idiot.
"Whatever, do what you want, I'm going to go talk to Leah." I growled at him. I started to walk away when he grabbed my arm, stopping me. "You can't help everyone, Lexi. Some people are destined to be broken." He said sadly. "Like me?" I challenged before dislodging his hand from my arm and storming out of the house, throwing Emily a glare as I grabbed the keys and left the house.
I angrily started the car and backed out of the driveway. Within minutes, I was at her house only because I didn't follow the speed limit. Like ever. I knocked on the door three times. Some of my anger had dissipated but it wasn't hard to call back. I wasn't completely sure why I was so angry. Maybe it was just because Leah was my friend. Maybe it was because I wanted what Sam and Emily already had. The door opened to reveal Seth Clearwater- the happiest person I've ever known.  He ushered me inside, blushing slightly as his eyes met my face.
Seth had always been very happy but extremely shy.
"Hi Seth." I said, smiling at him. "Where is Leah?" "Um, she's in her room... Is she okay?" He asked with a sad look on his face. Sweet little Seth who was only 14 shouldn't have to deal with these tragedies in La Push. "I hope so..." I said softly not meeting his eyes. "Oh, okay..." He said when his mom called him. "Seth! Come here please!" Came his mothers soft voice from the office. I waved him away and fast but softly raced up the stairs.
I stopped in front of Leah's room which had a sign on it: This is Leah's room, you come in, you die.
Oh well. I've had a good run. I thought before pushing open the door. I saw Leah laying on her bed, her tearstained face hidden behind an old photo of her and Sam. "Leah?" I said softly. She glanced up from behind the photo. "You! Get out!" She snarled when she saw me. "No." I said firmly, crossing my arms over my chest. She got up from her bed, starting towards me with a glare on her face. I braced myself. I could defend myself if I really needed to, but I didn't want to hurt her. She kept walking towards me until we were almost nose to nose. Then it happened. She broke down in tears and hugged me. I stiffened. I wasn't used to others touching me besides Mason or Hailey. Then I hesitantly hugged her back. We stayed there for what seemed like forever. Her crying and hugging me. And me awkwardly hugging and patting her on the back.
