'Now I am become death, destroyer of worlds.' I had never understood that quote until this second. I felt like I was death, torn between both worlds, Life and Death.

My life was so epically screwed up. I had covered my head with a pillow while Sam and Emily were doing their..."thing." When they were finally done making ME feel disgusted I quietly stepped downstairs to see Jared and Paul with their faces in my fridge.
"HEY!" I hollered clapping my hands together loudly. "Get your stupid faces out of my food before I tear your arms out and choke you with them." I growled.
They looked at me wide-eyed before scrambling over each other to the couch. I hate people. I glared at them, slammed the fridge shut, grabbed the keys and left the house.
I started the car and drove out of the driveway down through the road by the forest.
I needed some thinking time by myself. I can't believe Bella would do this. I can't believe that Sam and Emily did that. This whole day was a mix of not believing and wanting to literally bang my head against the wall just to forget about it.
I didn't know exactly where I was going, all I could see was the road and a few lights from a small amount of houses that were still awake. It was about 10:30 pm, so I understood why so many were asleep.
What I didn't understand was why I was heading straight for Masons house. I didn't want to talk to him. Hell, I didn't even want to look at him. He was such a jerk to me. Then I realized, Hailey was still my best friend, even after everything that had happened.
I walked up to their door, hoping that Mason wasn't there. I knocked on the door which opened almost instantly to reveal Haileys face looking at me with shock.
I half smiled. "Hey." Her face turned to a look of anger. "HEY?! THATS ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY AFTER ALMOST A WEEK OF SILENCE?!" She shrieked glaring at me and starting to slowly walk towards me.
I gulped, slowly backing away. "YOU LEFT ME ALONE WITH MASON AND THE SHE DEVIL! HOW COULD YOU LET HIM GET WITH HER?!?!"
"Her" being Mackenzie. Aka the superbitch/shedevil.
"I'm sorry." I squeaked out still back away as she advanced. "UGH I CANT EVEN STAY MAD AT YOU!" She groaned tackling me.
"I'm s-" I gasped trying to free myself from her. She only wrapped her arms tighter around me and started crying.
"Oh ok, so we're doing this then." I was still gasping for air. At this point I would be surprised if my ribs weren't broken yet. "I'm sorry." I said to her, wheezing and coughing.
She loosened her arms and I escaped. She laughed as tears fell down her face. "I'm sorry too." She said sitting next to me on the ground in front of her house. "You don't have anything to be sorry for." I said brushing myself off. "But I should have reached out to you more. You were going through something that-" She paused to shudder.
I was confused for a few seconds and then I realized she was talking about my mother. "It's ok. I don't blame you." I said looking down at my hands.
"Are you gonna have a funeral for her?" She asked softly. "No. We decided yesterday to just bury her with just Sam and I." I told her recalling the memories of her lifeless body being gently placed 6 feet under.
She smiled softly. "That's nice." She said, her hand on my shoulder. I grinned awkwardly. "I guess so," I said getting up from the ground, Hailey following. "So, what's been going on around here? Where's Mason?" I asked curiously.
Her eyes darkened. "Come on, let's go inside." She said ignoring the question. I narrowed my eyes, but followed her through the door. Cool air hit my face along with a pungent scent of perfume.
I coughed. "What in the hell is that?" She scrunched up her nose. "Mackenzie came by and Mason and her went to the movies." She said clearly trying not to breathe in the perfume filled air. She's trying way too hard. I thought. Who wears THAT much perfume?
"Well that's just great." I scoffed sarcastically. "Oh and that's not the only thing." She said, laughter in her voice and pulled off a plate of...sausages? Blackened and burned I couldn't tell exactly what they were. "Uh what are those?" I asked.
She snickered. "I know right! Mackenzie made them so they're probably laced with poison. Cookie?" I raised an eyebrow. "Seriously? Those are cookies? I mean, I'm a shitty cooker but I'm not that shitty." I remarked.
She laughed. "Do you wanna go somewhere?" She asked. I shrugged. "I don't know." I said. "We should talk." She said, as all previous signs of laughter vanished on her face, gesturing to the stairs leading to her room. I nodded and followed her into her room.
It was just as I remembered it- bright blue paint on the walls, all windows open, various amounts of pretty house plants. She was basically the opposite of me. She was the light and I, well, I am the darkness. I sat down on her bed softly staring at my hands. "So what do you want to talk about?" I said pretending as if I didn't already have a good idea of what it was she wanted to talk about.
"Why?" She spoke softly. "Why didn't you talk to me? Why do you look so different?" She asked curiosity burning in her eyes like a small flame.
I looked back down at my hands shaking ever so slightly. It wasn't that I was angry, it was that I was scared. Our wolves are our best defenses so when we're scared normally we feel the need to defend ourselves. I took a deep breath trying to stop my trembling hands.
"I-I'm sorry," I said, my voice barely audible. "I wanted to but, I didn't know what to say." She tilted her head, confused. "About what?" You have to tell her. I thought. She deserves to know. But...I mustn't. I'll be putting all of our lives at risk for exposure.
I took another breath, this one short and quick. "Nothing, I'm fine. I'm sorry that I scared you." I lied. She narrowed her eyes. We were like sisters, we could always tell when the other was hiding something.
But she didn't press it. Then she smiled. "Ok, well I'll help you in any way I can." She said. I grinned. "I know." She walked over and hugged me, I resisted the urge to push her off, seeing as my wolf side didn't particularly enjoy physical contact.
Instead, I awkwardly patted her shoulder. "So, do you wanna do anything?" She asked me. I shook my head. "No, I should go, I'm not supposed to be out of the house right now, actually." I said, an edge to my voice.
She laughed. "House arrest?" Hailey guessed. I snorted. "Sure, bye." I told her, standing up, walking down the stairs and out the door.
I unlocked the car and got in the drivers seat, started the engine and backed out of the driveway. As I was driving, my mind was still racing about Bella and the leeches. I'd fixed things with Hailey and found my imprint but it doesn't matter if we're going to be killed off by the bloodsuckers.
I turned right at an intersection, when I looked ahead of me just in time to see a car crash through my windshield. The last thing I remembered was screaming. Someone was screaming. Then, my vision went black, my senses dulled, and I drifted out of consciousness and into oblivion.
