Chapter 34

     "Ashton!" I shouted out of fury. I heard a giggle come from my closet. I got up out of bed and stalked over to the closet.

    Crouched on the floor was Ashton and Lilly also sat there, nearly able to hold in her laughter. "It was her idea!" He quickly shouted, pointing at Lilly.

    "Come on" whines Lilly, "he had as much say in it as I did" she pouted and crossed her arms.

"Not true" he shouted.

"Is too" she countered.

"Is not"

"Is too"

This went on for a while until it got annoying. "Quit it! Now as cute as this may be its getting very annoying" I told them both.

   They both glared at each other and simultaneously stuck out there tongue. "Now, who did this?" I asked in a serious tone while crossing my arm and pushing out my hip.

    "He did" "She did" they both shouted. They started doing the back and forth bantering again before I quickly shouted for them to stop.

   "Get out of my closet. Now" I said. They both slowly got up and Lilly stepped on her brother's toe before he flicked her behind her ear. I laughed at the scene before I closed my bedroom door and went to get myself cleaned up.

    As I stood before my bathroom mirror examining my reflection I reflected on the former events.

   Waking up and finding yourself covered in maple syrup and sticky strings is not a nice feeling.

    I washed away all the stickiness from my hair and body. After I got out of the bathroom I put my damp hair up in a messy bun and got dressed.

     It was now two weeks since I moved in with the Grey's and it has been great so far. Today is Saturday and we are getting ready to go to the mall.

    As I finish putting on my black and white converse I stand up and check my outfit. My white off shoulder blouse paired well with my black skinny jeans.

   I exited my room and walk across the hall to Ashton's door. "Hey Ashton, you ready?" I ask as I knock the door. I got no reply so I decided to enter his room.

   I hear the shower running so I knew he was in the bathroom. I looked around his room and saw his clothes on his bed. He was gonna put on a grey v-neck with some black jeans.

    I looked around some more and see a few markers laying on his study table. I quickly go and take up a black and red sharpie.

    I take up his shirt and quickly I write "I'm Gay and Proud" on the back of it and draw a big smiley face with the red sharpie. I hear the shower turn off so I put down the shirt with the back face down so he wont see what I wrote.

    I left the room in a rush and quietly closed his door. "What did you do" I heard a small voice ask and I turned around to see Lilly with a smile on her face.

    "Shhhh, come on let's go down stairs" I said to her and we ran down the stairs. She giggled out of control and I tried to calm her down but failed.

    A couple minutes later Ashton came bounding down the stairs in his full attire. "Ready girls?" he asked. "Yea, lets get going" I said. Lilly ran out to the car followed by Ashton. I got full view of my masterpiece and accidentally let out a chuckle.

    "What's up" he asked, confused as he close the house door. "Oh nothing, you look good though Grey" I said to him. "Don't look so bad yourself Burke" he said with a small smile. Oh if only he knew.

    "What you guys want" he asked. "I want chicken and waffles" shouted Lilly. "Ok, so I guess we'll be going to Sally's Diner" he said as he parked the car and we exited. We walked across the street to Sally's Diner.

     We took our seats and a waiter came over to us with menus. "What can I get you guys today?" he asked. "I want chicken and waffles" said Lilly as he bounced in her seat. The waiter turned to me next. "I'll take a double cheese burger with a basket of fries and a glass of lemonade" I ordered. "Oh, I want iced tea" said Lilly.

     The waiter wrote all that down before turning to Ashton. "Anything for you handsome" he said to Ashton with a wink. I stifled a laugh and covered it up with a cough. Ashton looked at the waiter weirdly before he ordered his own cheese burger and onion rings.

    "What was that about handsome?" I teased. He glared at me.
 
     A couple minutes later the waiter came back with our orders and handed Ashton a slip of paper. On it was his phone number and his name, Wesley . "I'm free on Saturdays" he said to Ashton then mouthed 'Call me'.

    By this time I was fully doubled over with laughter. "Not funny" he gritted through his teeth. Lilly was totally oblivious and was fully into her chicken and waffles. "I beg to differ" I countered.

    Midway through our meal somebody cleared there throat. We looked up and saw Drake. "Hey man" said Ashton with a full mouth. Drake did not answer, instead he glared at me.

     "Why do you keep hanging out with her" he said talking about me as if I were a threat to mankind. "Hey, don't talk about her like that" shouted Lilly. "Oh yea and what are you gonna do about it Lilly Pad" he asked.

    Of course he would know Lilly, he's Ashton's best friend. "Don't call me that, I don't like you" she said and he glared at her. "Come on now Lilly, be nice" scolded Ashton. "Now Drake, that wasn't cool" said Ashton.

    "Oh, did I offend your little wannabe girlfriend" he said. Ashton stood up and went up close to Drake. "I think its time to go girls" he said then started to walk away.

    "Hey Ashton, I didn't know you were in the closet man" laughed Drake. "What are you talking about" he asked and Drake indicated that he check his back. Oh Crap!

    He went over to his car and tried to see his back in the glass but failed which ended with him removing his shirt and boy was it a sight for sore eyes.

    His eyes widened and he looked at my face that was bright red. "Miranda" he said as he took slow steps towards me. With each step he took forward I took two backwards. "Now Ashton, calm down" I said.

    "That was written on my back all morning" he asked. "Ummm, I think that saying yes would be very bad on my side" I said. "Run" he said darkly and he didn't have to tell me twice.

   Well I did not see that coming.
