Chapter 6
That afternoon, the ship arrived at Meherock and I soon got down. Saleo was awaiting his next trade assignment thus sailed off immediately. I walked my way away from the deserted dock towards the populated city square. I reached Meherock, alright, but I was lost. This was a new place altogether again.
I gazed as ornate buildings, houses and lanes passed me. The architecture was tremendously impressive. Slowly it occured to me why Saleo had described Meherock as the 'Land Of Legends'. The people around me, the way they gracefully carried themselves, their armour, magnificent swords.. It was Majestic! There was perfection (and wealth) all around me. And there I stood - rusty blue armour, steel scimitar and a graphite shield that had turned black due to Nograd's breath.
That did not bother me much. I was truly satisfied by the fact that I held revelence to such an astounding place. Just a few minutes away from the Dock stood a monumental monastery. It had a huge Dome representing Byzantine architecture and the windows were stained giving the monastery an exquisite look.
Just outside the monastery were a bunch of people talking within themselves. I headed towards them,
"Excuse me. Can you help me locate the SunShine Inn?"
All of them gave me a blank expression. An old man standing at some distance was staring at me all the time.
I added, "Rob's arms and weaponry?"
The old man headed towards me and interrupted," I guess I know just what you are searching for. Follow up"
What should I do? Can I trust him? It was strange that I never thought about this while meeting Mruango. "I have nothing to lose anyways."
While following him, I noticed the lustrous ostentatious amulet hung around his neck amongst the simple monk robes. I tried to pull in various deductions to who he may be, till he finaly halted. It was an unusual dead end, with 3 buildings surrounding us. "So where is Rob's ..."
He chimed in, "I don't know. This is where you should search." He walked away as soon as he completed the sentence. ''Why would he even walk me up to almost nowhere" I said to myself.
Alertness crept in as I tried to take in an account of the surroundings. Alienated, I looked all around me ; there was Roselinn herbs on my left and a 2 storey building on my right which seemed to have no name whatsoever.
I looked at ROSELINN one more time. My jaw dropped in complete astonishment! It was afternoon, so the sun caused partial reflection on the window. Only the latter part of the word ROSEL'INN' was visible. "Aha! SunShine Inn!"
I immediately climbed the building opposite to Roselinn herbs, to reach the 2nd floor. The door just in front of me looked sturdy and had ancient hand-carvings on it. I knocked the door in anxiety.
The guy who opened the door was short, dark and had quite a noticeable cut near his left eye (that from a sword or a knife.)I was bad at reacting in such situations so I silently handed over the parchment.
He glanced at it for a second and asked me to have to seat. I placed my helmet, sword and the shield on the table in front of me. He paced out of the room, and returned in a couple of minutes, smiling this time,
"I'm Rob and I'll just ask you to wait for a moment. We have someone coming over."
We heard a pitched sound as something shimmered in the next room. Before I could question anything, a tall, bald man, in green armour appeared in front of us He was no less than some Knight-In-Shining-Armour. He beamed as he saw me, and the glee radiated from his face. How do I react to this now? So I kept my cool so as to understand the situation.
