Next morning I woke up,took a shower and changed into formals. I headed downstairs only to find the television off and the 'just friends' pair sleeping and snoring. Lilly's head was on Matt's shoulder and his head on the top of hers. They looked adorable together. I clicked a picture and quickly sent it to Andy.
I moved out after leaving a sticky note on the refrigerator. Thank God I knew his house just like mine.
I had called Levi to pick me up before getting ready and was waiting for him in a white blouse and black pencil skirt. Monochromatic? I know but still.
When he arrived I quickly sat inside without wasting time for him to act like a gentleman and open the door for me. We first went to Knight corporations. The CEO was a grumpy looking man with an attitude worse than his stupid face. He was so busy ogling at me that he I had to snap my fingers twice in front of him. After 10 minutes of me speaking and him ogling, I concluded that I should probably leave. A quick decision huh? Better late than never. My inner voice snared.
Next was Porter Industries. The CEO was an old looking man who was hardly interested in any kind of business let alone the deal I had to offer.
After that I met a normal dealer who had a palace like office. When I was about to enter his office, Levi said that he would also come inside with me."Why? You didn't accompany me the previous times." I asked with a look of suspicion. I was then told that he had got 'strict orders' from uncle Carter. Seeing no way out, I let him accompany me. The man, Jacob Mitchell, was a well built, bulky man with beard. I quite didn't like the vibes he gave off. I felt odd sitting on his office as Levi spoke to him. Once or twice I caught him stealing glances at me but nothing much. Like the previous dealer, he himself wasn't interested in the deal. So luckily we headed out and moved towards our next destination, The Jayce Corporations.
We stopped in front of a tall, lavish looking building. It was beautiful, properly maintained and of course shouted wealth. The interior was also well organised and gave a proper professional atmosphere. At the reception, we were greeted by a beautiful girl who introduced herself as the PA of the CEO and asked as how she could help us.
Glancing at her batch which read Caden Zelch, I said, "Miss Zelch, we would like to see your boss."
"Ma'am do you have an appointment?" She asked.
Before I could speak, Levi spoke, " Yes, we had a talk yesterday about the office places."
"Oh! Mr Levi! I'll just go and inform Mr. Jayce. Then you can meet him."
She sashayed away as I muttered a thanks. I also looked at Levi and smiled at his efficiency.
I was admiring the the building and the level of management when Caden returned and asked us to follow her. We then moved to the 26th floor in the elevator which probably was the highest. The floor looked kind of abandoned and I thought we were going to be kidnapped when we halted before a wooden door. You are probably insane. Would it ever shut up?
I knocked and went inside to be greeted by a strong scent of masculine perfume. The inside of the office was simple yet elegant. I then focused my attention towards the man, Mr. Jayce.
He had properly styled chocolate-brown hair, a long defined nose and firm jawline with high cheekbones. His sight was slightly unnerving for me. It resurfaced some feelings which I had burried in the unknown depths of my heart, the feelings which I had somehow bound within the chains of my heart and which had been dormant since a long time. I felt like all those female leads of cliché billionaire romance novels when they first see the male lead. But there were some differences. They don't know the feeling but I recognised it very well. Raking a hand through his hair, getting lost in his eyes, feeling his jawline and swooning over it were farthest from my thoughts. No,my heart had other plans. I mean he was quite a handsome man and I should not have these feelings. Why? Because

I felt an urge to pull out his hair, give him a stare competition and punching him on the jaw. So what did you think, huh? Ew, gross! Perverts! (No offence dear readers😁). After all it's my life not a romantic novel. Isn't it? Violence used to be my sec... no first nature while I was in my teenage. Something happ.... no diversion Yeah sure.
As I approached his table, he stood up and held out his hand. His eyes were dark and he had a good height. He also had this intimidating and authoritative aura. I shook his hand and then sat down. He had deep and smooth voice
"Miss..?"
"Stanford." I spoke.
" Miss Stanford, you are the CEO of Yourhelp.com?" He asked with the same straight face.
"Yes. Mr Jayce." I replied curtly.
"I've read a lot bout the site and as per my knowledge, it's a rather successful website. It is certainly very astonishing that a young lady like you can handle such a big business so efficiently." He said with a smirk.
"My apologies Mr Jayce. I couldn't get the meaning. Care to explain?" I retorted with a tight lipped smile knowing properly where the conversation was heading.
"I mean did it belong to your father before you took over?" He explained.
"Sir, you took over your father's company but that doesn't mean everyone does that." I replied calmly.
I could see his nerves popping out on the back of his clasped hands that were positioned on the top of the table.
He spoke after a couple seconds of glaring had passed,"When you do not know about a particular subject, then you should not speak about it ma'am."
Change spoke with 'gritted'.
"I can say the same. Can't I ?" I added with a defying look.
"Do not forget that you are sitting in my office." he said as if accepting my challenge.
"Sir, does it bring any change to the truth or should it to my attitude?" I responded with a pensive expression.
"You can be politeer ma'am."
"And I can be ruder as well." I snapped with as much venom as I could muster and pour in my words. You know why that was difficult? Because my heart shaped pot was threatening to spill out something. It was conspiring against my mind and trying to free the hidden d!tch in me. Not to mention my inner voice that was basically screaming to slap him.
And then I somehow bargained with them and settled for stare competition with him. Good. Now agree to one more thing, slap him. Shut the hell up.
"I was looking forward for this deal but I'm afraid I can't say it now." He finally spoke.
"Neither can I sir." I spat and stood up to head out. But before I left the room. I gave in to one of the pleas of my heart.

'Thump'

Too wrong for the sound of a slap?

No no, of course I didn't slap him even though you should have. Ughgh
I just muttered," Hope to never see you again Mr. Jayce"and shut the door at a speed that it echoed throughout the abandoned corridor (making the noise) and me ponder how it hadn't cracked. No wonder why the corridor was so deserted.
I left the building not before saying something to Caden.
"You've got a WholeGlass of a boss."
(Did you get it??😆😆)
