He got up.
"What do you want?"
"Is this the anger you try to scare me with or just your irresistible irritation on having to leave an opportunity with her." I said my blood boiling.
"Whatever it may be. You must be quite pleased after last night."
"What do you mean?" I asked bewildered.
"I was not doing anything with her. I'm not interested in her. But you, why are you so touchy with Llan? Just why? You shouldn't have been the way you were with him. I was there for you. But you just ignored me." He shouted at me loudly.
"Do not shout." I said.
"So you need to understand..." He spoke calmer.
"Why? Why just I? Why don't you?"
"What didn't I understand?"
"I was not being touchy with him alright. I was sad. I was down. But you shouldn't get time out of your busy schedule."
"You already know that my schedule is busy."
"Plus the additional time you are giving to people nowadays."
"I'm not giving any additional time to anyone. It's just there is a new..."
"Who said I was interested in lies?"
"Miss Stanford you know I won't lie to you."
"Oh it's all changed."
"Just because you have Llan. You can trust him. You can care for him. You can spend your life with him, marry him."
"Oh stop taunting alright."
"I'm not taunting. I'm telling you your truth."
"And of course, it's you who has got the trademark to speak the truth, right? All others are here to ogle at each other's faces."
"Whatever."
"Of course it doesn't matter."
"Why do you confuse in between things?"
"Now I confuse in between things? Do you have an idea how the things you do affect me?"
"You just need to tell me. I promised that I'll be there for you. You belong to me. But you couldn't get enough of Llan. Leave me. All the time stuck with him."
"Oh please. I don't belong to you. Stop acting like you care. All you care is about your important meetings and official calls. Work calls." I pointed at him indirectly.
"So you know how important work is. It's not a new thing. If you want more time just tell me, what's the need to do that?"
"You care only of your work and I don't know who?"
"And I don't care about you no. Not at all. Because I don't love you. It's just my responsibility that I do things for you otherwise you don't matter to me. Right? You wanted to know why I care no? See just because we are married and its an impossible task for me to say no to the duties which I've to fulfil due that matrimonial reasons. Of course I don't have any kinds of feelings for a person like you. You don't matter in my life no. And I just don't have time to waste no. So I just have to show that I care. That earns me points plus you are happy with Llan. Why couldn't you just spend your life with him?"
His words slapped me. It was like he had pushed me down and kicked me till I spilt Crimson liquid uncontrollably out of my covering of a skin. I felt myself trembling with anger and hurt when he said that he doesn't love me. I stood rooted to my spot, unable to understand where in the world shall I have my tomb built.
"Why did you marry me when you had all the problems?"
"Why open old wounds now?"
"Now marrying me becomes a wound."
"What do you think?"
"I couldn't fathom the depth." I retorted.
"Now you get it? Do you?" He asked lightly.
I swallowed hard. I'd taken my decision.
